Operating as a agile team member within our Finance and Accounting organization, this role partners across accounting, FP&A, and treasury functions. The Staff Accountant leverages modern technology and AI tools to execute core month-end close processes, perform balance sheet reconciliations, support cash positioning, and communicate financial results to leadership across the company.\nREPORTS TO\nThe Staff Accountant reports to the Treasury Manager in the Finance and Accounting department.\nESSENTIAL DUTIES\nThe essential duties for this role include, but are not limited to:\nEffectively communicate financial performance, general ledger variances, and operational insights across accounting, finance, treasury, and cross-functional leadership teams.\nExecute key month-end close activities, including preparing complex journal entries, expense accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations within Workday.\nLeverage AI tools (such as Claude in Excel) and data platforms (Snowflake) to analyze large financial datasets, automate manual reconciliations, and optimize workflow efficiency.\nSupport cross-functional finance operations by monitoring cash entries, assisting with bank reconciliations, and tracking daily liquidity entries as needed.\nAssist in evaluating departmental spend and actual vs. budget variances to support FP&A forecasting and management reporting.\nHelp document, refine, and enforce internal accounting controls and assist with annual financial statement audit requirements.\nPartner with FP&A to prepare presentation materials and executive summaries for monthly financial reviews with senior leadership.\nMaintain agility and flexibility to step into adjacent treasury, financial modeling, and operational accounting projects as business needs evolve.\nAchieve results by working in a fast-paced team environment while simultaneously managing and prioritizing multiple deliverables with strict deadlines.\nMaintain a strong sense of ownership and pride in work performed.\nAdditional responsibilities as assigned.\nBEHAVIORS\nThe SVG behaviors are listed below:\nBe Aware (Emotional Intelligence)\nBe Open & Honest (Communication)\nBe a Team Player (Teamwork and Collaboration)\nBe Accomplished (Drive for Results)\nBe the Example (Develop Self & Empower People)\nBe Forward Thinking (Strategic Thinking)\nBe a Problem Solver (Continuous Improvement)\nAdditional behaviors for this position include:\nWork Ethic\nOrganization Skills\nAttention to Detail\nSelf-starter\n Education/Experience:\nBachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics, or related field.\nPreferred: 1-3 years of full-time work experience in a corporate setting of related fields.\nSkills/Specialties:\nExceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.\nWorking knowledge of Excel\nStrong understanding of GAAP and general ledger accounting principles.\nPreferred: Proven experience leveraging AI tools (Claude in Excel) for automation and analytics.\nPreferred: Working knowledge of Workday and Snowflake.\nCertifications/Licenses:\nCPA license or candidate a plus\n Competitive compensation Medical, Dental and Vision benefits after a short waiting period\n401k matching program\nGenerous paid time off program with an additional company break during the holidays\nAnnual Volunteer Time Off (VTO) and a donation matching program\nLife Insurance Employee Assistance Program (health & well-being on and off the job) Rewards and Recognition\nMaternity and Parental Leave Training program and ongoing support throughout your entire Spring Venture Group career\nDiverse, inclusive & welcoming culture\nOptional enrollment options include HSA/FSA, AD&D, Spousal/Dependent life insurance, Short Term/Long Term Disability, Travel Assist, and Legal plans\nSecurity Responsibilities:\nOperating in alignment with policies and standards\nEnsuring acquisition and procurement follows security standards\nPromoting and supporting alignment with security standards for all areas of responsibility\nReporting Security Incidents\nCompleting assigned training\nProtecting assigned organizational assets\nSo that we can prioritize valid applications, we require a LinkedIn profile within our application process.
