Mentors support learners through 1:1 guidance, applied concept reinforcement, and exam-readiness coaching as students progress through a structured 14-week program.\nBecause this is a first-time program launch, mentors will play an important role as early instructional partners, helping identify where students struggle, how concepts translate into practice, and how exam-readiness support can be strengthened across the student experience.\nThis role is distinct from the Live Instructor role and does not include lecture delivery responsibilities.\nKey Responsibilities\nStudent Mentorship and Support\nMeet regularly with assigned students in scheduled 1:1 mentorship sessions\nReinforce key sterile processing concepts aligned to CRCST exam domains\nSupport students in translating coursework into real-world sterile processing workflows\nHelp students build confidence navigating unfamiliar healthcare terminology and environments\nProvide encouragement, accountability, and structured progress guidance\nCertification Readiness Support\nHelp students prepare for the CRCST certification exam\nReinforce domain-level understanding including:\nShare practical strategies for exam preparation and knowledge retention\nHelp students identify areas requiring additional review\nApplied Industry Context\nHelp students understand expectations of hospital-based sterile processing environments\nShare examples from real sterile processing workflows\nSupport students in connecting technical learning to workplace responsibilities\nReinforce professionalism expectations within healthcare settings\nAsynchronous Student Support\nRespond to student questions related to course concepts between mentorship sessions\nMaintain visibility into student engagement and learning progress\nEscalate risk signals to the Springboard support team when appropriate\nProgram Collaboration\nPartner with Live Instructors and Springboard’s learning team to surface student learning trends\nShare feedback on where students struggle with CRCST-aligned material\nContribute insights that help strengthen the learning experience during program launch\nQualifications\nRequired\nActive CRCST certification through HSPA\nMinimum 3-5 years experience working as a sterile processing technician\nExperience working in a hospital-based sterile processing department strongly preferred\nPrior experience supporting trainees, students, or new sterile processing staff (preceptor, trainer, mentor, or instructor)\nAbility to explain sterilization workflows and infection prevention concepts clearly to learners with no prior healthcare experience\nPreferred\nExperience mentoring adult learners\nExperience supporting CRCST exam preparation\nExperience working in online or hybrid learning environments\nExperience onboarding or precepting new sterile processing technicians\nLeadership or shift lead sterile processing experience\nOther Requirements\nMust have reliable internet access (no hotspots)\nMust be comfortable using online learning platforms and video meeting tools\nAbility to respond to Springboard communications within 24 hours\nAbility to respond to student questions within 24-48 business hours\nStrong student empathy and communication skills\nPositive outlook on the sterile processing profession and career pathway\nMust live and work in the United States\nWe are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
