Areas covered include but are not limited to: sequence analysis; bioinformatics; insights into molecular, cellular and organismal biology; functional genomics; epigenomics; population genomics; proteomics; comparative biology and evolution; systems and network biology; genome editing and engineering; genomics of disease; and clinical genomics.\nWe are looking for either an Associate or Senior Editor to join the Genome Biology editorial team. Experience in one or multiple of these fields will enable you to assess research and developments across relevant areas within the scope of the journal.\nBroad scientific interests and a passion for science and open access publishing.\nAbility to critically assess manuscripts for scientific impact.\nEffective time management and prioritisation skills, and ability to balance short-term deadlines with long-term goals.\nExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.\nAbility to work in a team and with colleagues at all levels.\nEagerness to travel and meet scientists worldwide, learn more about them and their research, and represent the journal and BMC.\nCustomer focused attitude.\nFlexible mindset.\nSubstantial editorial experience is required for candidates applying for the Senior Editor position.\nDesirable\nA can-do approach to problem-solving\nAn interest in open access publishing\nKnowledge of editorial processes\nEditorial experience is not required, although applicants with significant editorial experience are encouraged to apply and will potentially be considered for Senior Editor positions.\nIn return, we offer a competitive salary range and great employee benefits.
