We are committed to making a positive impact through education and creating opportunities for people to grow and develop.\nAbout the Role\nWe are looking for a Finance Graduate Intern to join our Finance team at\nMacmillan Education\nThis is an opportunity for a recent graduate to gain practical experience across a range of finance activities while developing the technical and professional skills needed to build a career in finance.\nYou will work alongside experienced finance colleagues and gain exposure to day-to-day financial processes, reporting, reconciliations and administrative activities. The role will provide you with an opportunity to learn, ask questions, take on responsibility and develop your understanding of how a finance function supports a business.\nRole Responsibilities\nSupport the Finance team with day-to-day financial and administrative activities. \nAssist with processing, checking and maintaining financial information and records. \nSupport account reconciliations and investigate differences or discrepancies where required. \nAssist with the preparation of financial reports, schedules and supporting documentation. \nCapture and maintain accurate financial information in relevant systems. \nAssist with accounts payable, accounts receivable and other finance processes as required. \nWork collaboratively with colleagues across Finance and other areas of the business to resolve queries and obtain information. \nFollow established financial processes, controls and procedures while developing an understanding of why they are important. \nSupport ad hoc finance projects and activities that provide opportunities to learn and develop. \nExperience, Skills & Qualifications\nEssential\nA recently completed or near-completed degree in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management, or a related field. \nAn interest in developing a career in Finance. \nBasic understanding of accounting and financial principles. \nGood numerical and analytical skills, with an ability to work accurately with financial information. \nGood organisational skills and the ability to manage tasks and meet deadlines. \nGood written and verbal communication skills. \nDesirable\nPrevious internship, vacation work or other practical exposure to a finance environment. \nExperience using Microsoft Excel or another spreadsheet application. \nExposure to a financial or enterprise resource planning system would be advantageous, but is not essential. \nWe are interested in your potential to learn and develop, so you do not need to meet every desirable requirement to apply.
