The Project Coordinator Open Access manages the production process for accepted articles, from completion of peer review through to online publication. Working with authors, editors, offshore vendors and internal colleagues, the role ensures content moves efficiently through production workflows, meets quality standards and is published on schedule.\nAlongside managing day-to-day publication activities, you will contribute to projects that support standardisation, process improvements and the continued development of publishing systems and workflows across Publishing Operations.\nThis is a hybrid role based in Dordrecht. This location supports effective collaboration with the team and aligns with business needs.\nRole Responsibilities\nManaging the publication process for accepted articles from production handover through to online publication, ensuring content is delivered accurately and on schedule\nPerforming production quality checks on article files, metadata and publication outputs to ensure compliance with journal requirements and publishing policies\nWorking closely with offshore vendors to monitor performance, resolve issues, manage post-publication corrections and ensure articles are published on time and to the required standard\nCommunicating effectively with authors, editors, vendors and internal stakeholders, delivering a Customer-Focused service and resolving publication queries\nUsing knowledge of Publishing Workflows & Systems to manage article progress, troubleshoot workflow issues and support the consistent delivery of publication processes\nContributing to Process Optimization initiatives, systems testing and workflow improvements, helping to improve efficiency and standardisation across Publishing Operations\nApplying Data analytics / Quantitative Skills to monitor workflow performance, identify trends and support reporting activities and operational decision-making\nContributing to team and cross-departmental projects, sharing knowledge and helping to improve processes and ways of working across Publishing Operations\nSkills, Experience & Qualifications:\nEssential\nBachelor’s degree, HBO qualification or equivalent experience\nExcellent written and spoken English\nStrong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines\nExcellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders\nExperience working with content management systems, workflow tools or publishing platforms\nDetail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and process accuracy\nDesirable\nExperience in scholarly publishing or science communication\nFamiliarity with XML, HTML or other digital publishing technologies\nExperience contributing to process improvement or operational projects\n\nNote for candidates in the Netherlands: As per our local policy, please be aware that this role will be open only for internal candidates within the first 2 weeks.
