We are driven by the belief that all children deserve a world-class education and that they can and will achieve when provided with high expectations, rigorous curriculum, and a joyful school culture. \nOverview\nThe Paraprofessional provides academic and behavioral support to students, helping all students engage meaningfully in learning, meet high academic expectations, and develop the skills and habits needed for success. \nWhat does the Paraprofessional do?\nProvide academic and behavioral support to students in general education classrooms through a combination of one-on-one, small-group, and push-in support, based on student and classroom needs.\nImplement instructional plans, curriculum, and interventions prepared by classroom teachers and school leaders with fidelity, including supporting students with independent work, skill practice, and reinforcement of learning.\nSupport classroom teachers in maintaining a positive, structured, and productive learning environment by reinforcing classroom routines, behavioral expectations, and student engagement.\nCollaborate effectively with general education teachers, special education teachers, the School Culture team, and school leadership to support student learning, behavior, and overall success.\nProvide targeted academic and behavioral interventions to individual students or small groups, including students with and without IEPs, as directed by teachers and school leaders.\nSupport teachers and school leadership in responding to challenging student behaviors, including implementing behavior plans, de-escalation strategies, and schoolwide behavior systems; assist with monitoring the School Culture office as needed.\nCommunicate with families regarding student progress or behavioral concerns, as directed by teachers and school leadership.\nSupervise students during lunch, recess, transitions, and other non-instructional times, and monitor common areas of the school to maintain a safe, calm, and orderly environment.\nParaprofessionals may be assigned to support specific students, classrooms, or grade levels, and their responsibilities may shift throughout the school year based on student needs and school priorities.\nAssist teachers and school leaders with additional responsibilities as needed.\nWhat makes a great Paraprofessional at Springfield Prep?\nYou are looking to join a mission-driven community where everyone works together towards a common goal.\nYou enjoy providing specialized support and instruction.\nYou have a strong conviction that all students, regardless of their background or learning challenges, can achieve at the highest levels. \nWho should apply?\nOur community and student body are diverse, and we believe that we can best achieve our mission when our leadership, teachers, and staff reflect our students’ identities.
