We work collaboratively with our customers, building trusted relationships that enable us to deliver exceptional, personalized experiences designed for real-world challenges in the lab.\nWant to be part of a team that’s making a difference to human health?\nAbout the role:\nWe are looking for a personable, well-organized scientist with a strong background in at least one, and interest in all of the applications in which our instruments are used. The role will require significant travel throughout the Southwest USA, with occasional travel to the East USA and our UK headquarters. The role requires working with colleagues from across multiple time zones and territories, requiring some flexibility in meeting schedules, but as our FAS team are home-based, there will be flexibility in scheduling appointments with customers and colleagues, allowing for a balance in work and personal responsibilities.\nThe FAS responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:\nPre-Sales\nOrganize and run product demonstrations on all SPT Labtech liquid handlers.\nSubject Matter and Instrument Expertise\nMaintain a high-level operational knowledge of our liquid handling products.\nMaintain high level of subject matter knowledge in relevant application areas.\nProvide on-going subject matter expertise support to FAS and Territory Management teams.\nTraining and Support\nArrange and provide applications-based training to new and existing users of all SPT Labtech liquid handling instruments.\nProvide on-going remote and in-person applications support to end-users. \nDevelop, modify, and enhance advanced liquid handling and automation protocols to optimize client operations. \nInternal Support\nContribute to conference strategy and attend conferences.\nMaintain Salesforce recordkeeping.\nMarketing\nSeek and deliver a targeted amount of marketing content in the form of customer-driven applications notes, webinars, and conference-presentations, including posters\nParticipate in strategic collaborations to regularly deliver scientific content for marketing.\nCollect customer feedback (product development, software, etc).\nMaintain positive customer relationships.\nMentor and provide guidance to Associate FAS, as needed.\nSkills & Attributes\nMSc with at least five years’ practical experience or a PhD and at least two years practical experience in a Biological Science discipline, liquid handling, laboratory automation or related field in an industry or academic environment.\nWorking knowledge of NGS methods used in research, with experience using liquid handling and automation being preferable (HTS, Assay Development, or molecular or structural biology backgrounds will also be considered)\nExperience with workflow optimization in genomics, drug discovery, and structural biology.\nGood understanding of genomics, drug discovery, and structural biology.\nPractical experience with genomics/molecular biology is desirable.\nAbility and willingness to travel extensively (up to 75%), including internationally.\nAmiable personality; excellent organizational, analytical, troubleshooting, record-keeping, and communication skills; professional demeanour.\nPrevious experience in field applications, teaching, marketing or customer service a plus.\nLeadership ability with a demonstrated record of mentorship.\nAbility to work efficiently and both independently and within a team structure.\nAbility to work toward corporate goals.\nExcellent presentation and training skills.\nOur commitment to you:\nYou will be collaborating with talented professionals in a motivated and driven team.\nWe offer a competitive salary package, performance-related bonus and comprehensive, valued benefits, including private medical insurance.\nWe embrace diversity and inclusivity, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, physical ability, or family status.
