The Continuous Improvement Intern will play a key role in enhancing manufacturing processes through the application of Lean methodologies. The intern will focus on analyzing current workflows, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing improvements to boost productivity. This role provides hands-on experience on the plant floor and exposure to cross-functional collaboration within the manufacturing environment.\nWhat you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)\nWhile each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:\nAssignment Objectives:\n\nConduct time studies for assembly lines and other manufacturing processes.\n\nDevelop standardized work procedures for assembly lines.\n\nIdentify waste within manufacturing processes and contribute to problem-solving initiatives.\n\nActively participate in structured Kaizen events.\n\nKey Training Objectives:\n\nLearn and apply Lean tools and concepts effectively.\n\nBuild communication skills to engage with team members across various organizational levels.\n\nDevelop leadership abilities by managing projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.\n\nGain experience in overseeing cross-functional projects from initiation to completion.\n\nMeasurable Impact Potential:\n\nIncrease assembly productivity by eliminating waste and implementing standardized work procedures.\n\nWhat we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)\nWe each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:\nRequired Experience:\nStrong time management and organizational skills.\n\nProficiency in project management and multitasking.\n\nStrong problem-solving capabilities and attention to detail.\n\nPreferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nExperience with Project Management, Lean Manufacturing, and Process Management.\n\nEducation & Certifications\nCurrently pursuing an Engineering degree (preferred focus on process or industrial engineering).\n\nTravel & Working Environment\n70% of the time will be spent on the plant floor, with additional time allocated to computer-based work.\n\nNo travel required\n\nHow we live our culture\nOur culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
