By creating high quality equipment and payment systems to improve the rider experience, we empower equitable mobility and provide services to better connect communities.\nHow you will make an Impact (Job Summary)\nThe Procurement Analytics Summer Intern will support the Procurement and Sourcing teams by providing data analysis, reporting, and insights that improve decision-making across cost, supplier performance, and operational efficiency. This role will gain hands-on experience working with ERP data, dashboards, spend analytics, and continuous improvement initiatives. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and eager to learn how data drives procurement strategy.\nWhat you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)\nWhile each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:\nAssist in developing and maintaining procurement dashboards and reports (spend analysis, savings tracking, KPI metrics, supplier performance)\nAnalyze large datasets across materials, suppliers, pricing, and purchase orders to identify trends and improvement opportunities.\n Support data validation and cleansing activities to ensure accuracy of ERP and procurement master data.\nHelp prepare executive summaries, presentations, and visualizations for leadership reviews.\nConduct research on suppliers, market pricing, commodity trends, and benchmarking.\n Assist in creating standardized tools (templates, scorecards, trackers) to support sourcing events and supplier evaluations.\nWork with cross-functional teams (Engineering, Finance, Quality, Planning) on data-driven improvement projects.\n Support automation or AI-driven initiatives by assembling structured datasets and documentation.\nWhat we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)\nWe each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:\nRequired Experience\nStrong analytical, problem-solving, and critical-thinking abilities.\nProficiency in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, basic formulas).\n Experience working with data sets, spreadsheets, or basic reporting tools.\n Ability to interpret numerical data and present insights clearly.\nStrong communication and organizational skills with attention to detail.\nAbility to work independently and collaborate in a team environment.\nPreferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nExperience with BI tools such as Power BI, Qlik, Tableau, or similar.\nKnowledge of database tools or languages (SQL, Python) is a plus.\n Familiarity with supply chain, procurement, finance, or operations concepts.\n Understanding of KPIs such as cost savings, lead time, on-time delivery, PPV, and supplier scorecards.\n Interest in AI, automation, or data visualization.\n Ability to create clean, professional presentations in PowerPoint.\nEducation & Certifications\nCurrently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in:Supply Chain Management\nBusiness Analytics\n Data Analytics\n Industrial Engineering\n Finance\n Business Administration\n Or a related field\n\n GPA of 3.0+ preferred.\n No certifications required, but coursework in analytics, statistics, or supply chain is beneficial.\nSPX Pay Transparency Statement\nWe recognize that attracting the best talent is key to our strategy and success as a company. As required by law in this state, the estimated salary range for this position is $20.00 to $25.00 per hour and represents our good faith estimate as to what our ideal candidates are likely to expect. We tailor our offers within the range based on organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic zone, and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and communication skills, and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. At SPX, it is not common for individuals to be hired at the higher end of the range, and compensation decisions depend on a variety of factors. This position is eligible to participate in a discretionary bonus, subject to the rules governing the plan.
