With cooling towers, fans, and refrigeration units, companies rely on brands like Marley, Recold, and SGS to provide comfort and mission critical and industrial cooling solutions.\nHow you will make an Impact (Job Summary)\nSPX is a diverse team of unique individuals who all make an impact.\nWould like you to join our paid summer internship program.You’ll gain hands-on experience, learn from experts, and collaborate with teams that do truly amazing things.\nWhat you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)\nWhile each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:\nPrincipal Duties and Responsibilities\nWork with plant engineers to evaluate, develop and document processes. \nHelp perform training of personnel in such processes.\nWork with Production to understand current state; use this knowledge to generate changes that result in error proof processes.\nSupport and work with the Quality team to reduce errors that lead to customer complaints.\nPerform audits of Quality processes and Management System elements. Generate reports detailing any deficiencies that were identified. \nSupport the overall continuous improvement projects of SPX at the Olathe manufacturing Plant\nWhat we are looking for (Experience, Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education)\nWe each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:\nRequired Experience and Education\nCurrently Pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Computer/Electrical Engineering \nProgramming experience, preferably in VBA, C+, etc \nCandidates must have completed their second year of studies\nCumulative GPA of 3.0 or above\nHigh problem-solving skills and self-direction\nCompany will not provide sponsorship of position - must be eligible to work in US\nPreferred Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities\nTechnical hands-on experience with Microsoft Office products\nTravel & Working Environment\nManufacturing Environment frequently requires use of foot, ear and eye protection when in production areas\nAbility to climb, stoop, crouch and crawl\nAbility to lift/move up to 25lbs occasionally\nHow we live our culture\nOur culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
