We are opening a new campus facility that will have two of our businesses (Marley and Ingenia Technologies) evolving and growing together at one site. Key to this role will be to learn in a fast past environment.\nThe Quality Inspector is responsible for ensuring OlympusMax and Ingenia custom Air Handling Units (AHUs) are manufactured and assembled in compliance with customer specifications, engineering drawings, quality standards, and applicable industry requirements. This position performs in-process and final inspections throughout the manufacturing process to verify product quality, workmanship, dimensional accuracy, and functional compliance prior to shipment.\nThe incumbent will partner across Manufacturing Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Engineering, and Continuous Improvement teams to build and sustain an ISO 9001 compliant Quality Management System (QMS). This role offers the opportunity to influence plant startup activities, develop quality systems, and shape long-term operational excellence.\nWhat you can expect in this role (Job Responsibilities)\nWhile each day brings new opportunities at SPX, your core responsibilities will be:\nConduct receiving, in-process, and final inspections on OlympusMax and Ingenia custom AHUs.\nVerify compliance with engineering drawings, bills of material (BOMs), specifications, and customer requirements.\nInspect critical components including:Fan arrays\nCoils\nDampers\nFilters\nEnergy recovery systems\nElectrical panels and controls\nWelded assemblies\nStructural framing\nCasing and panel assemblies\n\nPerform dimensional inspections using precision measuring equipment.\nVerify correct installation and orientation of components within AHU assemblies.\nEnsure product labeling, documentation, and identification requirements are met.\nComplete inspection reports, checklists, and quality records accurately and timely.\nDocument nonconformances and support root cause investigations.\nVerify electrical, mechanical, and functional tests are completed per company standards.\nConfirm units meet project-specific performance and quality requirements prior to shipment.\nEnsure compliance with applicable standards and certifications such as:ISO 9001\nUL requirements\nCustomer-specific specifications\nInternal SPX Technologies quality standards\n\nWhat we are looking for (Required/Ideal Experience, Skills, Education)\nWe each bring something to the table, and we are looking for someone who has:\nRequired Experience & Skills\nAbility to read assembly manuals, job orders, drawings, and Pack-In paperwork\nAbility to use Microsoft Word and Excel\nAbility to read a tape measure in metric and imperial standards\nAbility to correctly and safely use hand tools (both manual and pneumatic)\nAbility to read effectively from a paper copy\nAbility to plan work and select proper tools\nAbility to work within precise limits and/or standards of accuracy\nAbility to work well with others\nAbility to work in a fast paced environment\nAbility to communicate effectively\nIdeal Experience & Skills\nUnderstanding of HVAC systems and air handling unit construction preferred.\nExperience with root cause analysis methodologies.\nEducation & Certifications\nHigh school diploma or GED required\nTravel & Working Environment\nTravel will be required at times; Ingenia Headquarter located, QC Canada or other SPX locations such as Charlotte, NC or Overland, KS.\nManufacturing plant environment\nOffice and manufacturing plant environment with varying degrees of noise levels and potential exposure to bad weather, excessive heat and/or excessive noise.\nSitting, standing, walking, bending, pushing, pulling, climbing and potentially working at heights.\nHow we live our culture\nOur culture is at the center of what we do and, more importantly, who we are.
