Our Golden, CO location allows for easy commutes and excellent leisure time activities.\nThis position is responsible for operating grinding and surfacing equipment used in the manufacturing of high-quality knife blades and components. Grinding operators also perform quality inspections & operate machinery used in other manufacturing processes including but not limited to CNC, vision system (CMM), manual mill, drill press, belt grinder, pneumatic press etc.\nMonday - Friday 3:30 pm to 12:00 am (Training on first shift for 1-3 months 7 am - 4pm) \nCompensation: $21-23.00/hr. and $2.50 shift differential. \nEssential Functions\nMeticulous attention to detail and maintain a clean and safe work area following 5S principles\nInspect, load and unload materials (up to 50lbs) onto shelves and into machines\nInspect parts in a timely manner using calipers, micrometers, fixtures and various instruments\nProperly count, stack, label and color code parts before moving to the next respective process\nPerform basic machine maintenance and Dept. cleaning on a daily/monthly basis\nProperly allocate parts into appropriate areas, including passed and scrapped parts\nPromptly & effectively communicate with Supervisor especially regarding any equipment or safety issues\nModify basic G-CodTake initiative on written and verbal communications\nAdapt to process changes and improvements\nAdditional Responsibilities\nMake adjustments on machines as needed for product specifications\nTroubleshoot and assist with production and process improvements\nEfficiently communicate with Supervisor to obtain necessary materials and supplies\nAssist other departments as assigned\nAll other duties as assigned\nRequired\nWork Experience\n2 years or more -Single and double disk grinder, surface grinder, and spindle grinder -Preferred\n2 years or more -CNC mills and lathes operation - Preferred\n2 years or more - Involved setup, adjustments, and operational procedures - Preferred\nIn lieu of experience - Machinist related schooling programs and/or courses\nRequirements\nProficient with micrometers, calipers, and other measuring equipment\nReliable and consistent attendance\nHigh attention to detail\nSafety conscious\nQuality oriented and takes pride in high quality workmanship\nProficient organizational skills\nAbility to read and understand technical manufacturing specifications\nHas rudimentary understanding of geometric dimensioning & tolerancing (GD&T)\nBasic math skills\nAbility to read and understand written and oral instruction\nAbility to effectively communicate with all levels of staff\nAbility to safely and effectively operate machinery\nComfort in handling sharp objects (knife blades and raw cut metal)\nAbility to adapt and embrace new methods\nStable work history\nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
