This is a key position within the Payments Team, requiring deep domain expertise in payment processing and fintech. The role is part of the Platform Community, with hiring and technology policies defined and owned by the Engineering Manager.\nREPORTS TO\nEngineering Manager\nJOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nBuild and maintain high-quality payment features and financial infrastructure using Node.js.\nDesign, implement, and maintain reliable payment processing flows, reconciliation processes, financial ledger systems including double-entry bookkeeping, and idempotent payment operations.\nCollaborate with the product team and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of payment systems with the broader platform.\nActively participate in code reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to improve overall code quality.\nParticipate in interview panels related to platform development hiring.\nContribute to the Platform Community, sharing knowledge and helping to shape hiring and technology policies.\nWork closely with the Engineering Manager, following the guidelines and direction provided by the Engineering Manager.\nTroubleshoot and resolve software defects and other technical issues in payment-critical systems.The duties and responsibilities outlined above are not a comprehensive list and additional tasks may be assigned from time to time based on business needs.\n\nREQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS\nAt least 7 years of experience in application development using Node.js.\nProven experience in the payments or fintech domain, including working with payment processing systems in production.\nStrong understanding of the payment processing lifecycle: authorization, capture, refund, void, and chargebacks.\nExperience with reconciliation processes between internal systems and external payment providers.\nFamiliarity with financial ledgers and double-entry bookkeeping principles.\nExperience designing idempotent operations in distributed payment systems.\nStrong knowledge of architecture patterns, frameworks, and best practices.\nStrong communication and collaboration skills.\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science is preferred.\nEnglish proficiency is a must.
