In this role, you will drive mechanical architecture, lead complex product design efforts, and validate system performance through analysis and testing.\nIf you’re passionate about innovative product development, mechanical system optimization, and collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, this is an opportunity to influence major programs and deliver high impact engineering solutions.\nWhat You’ll Do\nLead the creation of complex mechanical drawings, parts, and assemblies\nAnalyze mechanical designs to ensure they meet system level requirements and environmental specifications\nApply configuration management best practices, engineering change processes, and documentation control throughout the product lifecycle\nCollaborate with electrical, systems, and manufacturing engineers to optimize electromechanical designs for performance, cost, and reliability\nSupport material selection, tolerance analysis, and DFMA activities for ruggedized and high precision systems\nDirect the efforts to develop and test mechanical designs for both our prototyping and manufacturing businesses\nWhat You’ll Bring\nBachelor's degree in mechanical engineering with 4 or more years of mechanical design experience\nProven expertise in configuration management (CM), engineering change workflows, and strict design control across the full product lifecycle\nStrong background with electromechanical design, engineering specifications, test procedure development, and tight-tolerance requirements\nProficiency executing structural FEA and thermal CFD analyses to validate and optimize designs\nExperience with SolidWorks (3-D modeling and 2-D drawings preferred)\nThorough knowledge of American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME) Y14 and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) standards\nFamiliarity with designing mechanical hardware to withstand harsh environmental conditions, including shock, vibration, and thermal cycling\nWays to Stand Out\nGDTP Y14.5 Senior Level Professional Certification\nCertified SOLIDWORKS Associate (CWSA) - Mechanical Design\nDirect experience applying MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-1472, and other MIL standards\nExpertise in thermal management of high-power printed circuit boards (PCBs) in enclosed or ruggedized systems\nProficiency utilizing ANSYS Icepak, SolidWorks Flow Simulation, or Siemens Flotherm\nExperience using tolerance analysis tools such as 3DCS Variation Analyst\nProficiency utilizing SolidWorks PDM and Aras Innovator PLM\nWhat Sets Us Apart?\nSRC, Inc., a not-for-profit research and development company, combines information, science, technology and ingenuity to solve “impossible” problems in the areas of defense, environment and intelligence. The anticipated salary range for this position based out of Syracuse, NY is estimated at $116,000 to $141,000 annually.
