Our goal: To uncover and deliver on profound possibilities for a smarter, safer, and more sustainable world.\nInSyS's Center for Advanced Imaging (CAI) is expanding in all areas providing innovative low light imaging, space qualified imaging, lidar imaging, and commercial OEM products. CAI is searching for an Application Engineer to help expand the Low Light CMOS Cameras Business. The candidate will be the critical technical bridge between the internal engineering team and the domestic/international customers and prime contractors doing government business. The candidate’s primary responsibilities span technical, client-facing and the product development domains. The candidate will have opportunity to learn low light camera operation, create system demonstrations, perform systems bring up, troubleshooting and debugging, write application notes, interface with clients, and participate in product optimization. The objective is to position SRI for continued growth in CMOS-based low light imaging technologies and products deployed in the commercial, government and military markets.\nThe position will work onsite at our Princeton, NJ office.\nResponsibilities\nCustomer Integration and “Bring-up” Support\nSupport customers in initial setup, system testing and hardware evaluation\nPerform debugging and troubleshooting, camera performance tuning and optimization in customers’ systems\nProof of Concepts and Technical Sales\nBuild customer evaluation kits, write Python scripts, set up test benches to prove camera capability\nRecommend right combination of sensors, lens and software algorithm based on customer needs\nInterfacing between Customers and the Engineering Team\nWrite application notes and technical guides for customers explaining how to best implement cameras\nCollect customer feedback and field test results\nSupport continued development and optimization for the low light products\nQualifications\nBachelors or Masters in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science.\nDue to government contract requirements candidates must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident\n2+ years’ experience with electronics design or testing in a team setting.\n2+ years’ interacting with customers in technical product support or technical sales role.\nProficiency with Linux OS and Kernel use, including debugging Linux system setup and software installation\nFamiliarity with Python, C, and C++, including common open-source processing libraries like NumPy, OpenCV, Torch, etc.\nExperience with technical writing including Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, styling, formatting\nAbility to travel up to 30% of the time if necessary\nGood communication skills\nWork both independently and in a team setting\nDesired skills:\nRMA troubleshooting and debugging\nMilitary and night vision industry cameras\nNvidia device and embedded processor use\nFamiliarity with MIPI, I2C, SPI, GMSL, USB, Serial Port\nFamiliarity with VS Code, Python debuggers\nThe salary range is: $81,522-$108,018.. Salary ranges will vary and are based on several factors, including geographic location, market competitiveness and equity amongst internal employees in similar roles.
