Purpose of the Job: The Network Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting the organization’s network infrastructure. This role ensures reliable, secure, and high-performance connectivity across all company locations, enabling business operations, communication, and IT services to run efficiently. Key Responsibilities: Network Design and Implementation •Design, deploy, and maintain wired and wireless network infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, VPN, and cloud connectivity. •Plan network architecture for scalability, security, and high availability. Network Administration and Monitoring •Monitor network performance and availability using industry-standard tools. •Troubleshoot network issues to ensure minimal downtime and optimal performance. Security Management •Implement network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and access controls. •Ensure compliance with company security policies and regulatory standards. Maintenance and Upgrades •Plan and perform network hardware and software upgrades, patching, and configuration changes. •Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and inventory. Collaboration and Support •Work closely with IT teams, system administrators, and business units to support applications and infrastructure. •Provide technical guidance for network-related projects, including cloud and hybrid deployments. Disaster Recovery and Backup •Develop and maintain network disaster recovery and business continuity plans. •Ensure network resilience and rapid recovery from outages. Vendor and Asset Management •Coordinate with vendors for procurement, support, and maintenance of network equipment. •Track network assets and lifecycle management. Process Improvement •Continuously review network performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Network Engineering or Network Administration, preferably in large-scale enterprise environments.
Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, VLANs, MPLS).
Experience with network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
Familiarity with network monitoring tools and troubleshooting techniques.
Understanding of network security principles, VPNs, and access control.
Knowledge of cloud networking (AWS, Azure, GCP) is a plus.
