The role is suited for a hands-on technical leader who can make architectural decisions while continuing to contribute to design and development.\n\nThe ideal candidate should have strong expertise in distributed systems, microservices, event-driven architectures, APIs, databases, cloud platforms, and modern software engineering practices, along with the ability to guide engineering teams through complex technical challenges.\n\nKey Responsibilities:\n\n- Design and evolve scalable, resilient, and maintainable backend systems for enterprise applications.\n\n- Define service boundaries, data ownership, communication patterns, and integration strategies.\n\n- Design solutions using appropriate architectural patterns, including:\n\n1. Microservices\n\n2. Modular monoliths\n\n3. Event-driven architectures\n\n4. Layered architectures\n\n5. Hexagonal / Clean Architecture\n\n- Make architecture and technology decisions by evaluating trade-offs across performance, scalability, cost, reliability, and complexity.\n\n- Define and maintain backend architecture standards, design principles, coding standards, and best practices.\n\n- Design and develop high-performance RESTful APIs and backend services.\n\n- Lead technical design discussions, architecture reviews, and proof-of-concept initiatives.\n\n- Drive modernization and decomposition of legacy applications where required.\n\n- Design distributed systems with appropriate approaches to caching, messaging, asynchronous processing, fault tolerance, and service resiliency.\n\n- Design data models and database solutions based on application requirements and scalability needs.\n\n- Ensure appropriate implementation of security, authentication, authorization, logging, monitoring, and observability.\n\n- Review code and provide technical guidance to senior and mid-level engineers.\n\n- Mentor engineers and help teams adopt sound engineering and architectural practices.\n\n- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, DevOps, QA, Security, and Architecture teams to deliver complex technical solutions.\n\n- Troubleshoot complex production issues and drive root-cause analysis and long-term remediation.\n\n- Contribute to technical roadmaps and evaluate emerging technologies relevant to the backend ecosystem.\n\nRequired Skills & Experience:\n\n- 10-15 years of experience in backend software development, with significant experience in technical leadership or architecture.\n\n- Strong hands-on programming experience in at least one backend language such as Java, Python, Go, C#, or Node.js.\n\n- Extensive experience designing microservices and distributed systems.\n\n- Strong understanding of REST APIs, API design, service communication, and integration patterns.\n\n- Strong knowledge of event-driven architecture and messaging technologies such as Kafka, RabbitMQ, or equivalent.\n\n- Strong database expertise across relational and/or NoSQL databases, including data modeling and performance optimization.\n\n- Experience with Redis or other caching technologies is preferred.\n\n- Strong understanding of distributed-system concepts including scalability, availability, fault tolerance, consistency, concurrency, and resiliency.\n\n- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes or equivalent containerization technologies.\n\n- Hands-on experience with at least one major cloud platform - AWS, Azure, or GCP.\n\n- Understanding of CI/CD, DevOps, infrastructure automation, and observability practices.\n\n- Strong knowledge of design patterns, SOLID principles, clean code, and software engineering best practices.\n\n- Experience with automated unit, integration, and API testing.\n\n- Strong technical communication and stakeholder-management skills.\n\n- Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers and influence technical decisions across teams.\nSkills\nBackend Architecture, Distributed Systems, Microservices Architecture, RESTful API, Java, Python, Node.js","description_format":"text","description_chars":4042,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":10,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":null,"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":[],"hiring_locations":[],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Embedded Software & RTOS","Custom Software Development","Engineering Services"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-26T04:00:00Z"}],"liveness":{"score":22,"band":"cold","label":"Long shot","p_open":0.6,"p_active":0.671,"p_room":0.55,"age_days":43,"expected_fill_days":31,"reasons":["seen:43","win:tail"],"computed_at":"2026-09-30T05:45:00Z"},"pay":null,"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/srm-technologies-technical-lead","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/srm-technologies-technical-lead.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-10-01T01:42:47Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","usage":{"tier":"crawler","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":1210,"day_limit":5000,"remaining_today":3790,"minute_limit":60,"resets_at":"2026-10-02T00:00:00Z"}}}
