This role combines technical strategy, operational leadership, and active development responsibilities within the OutSystems platform.\nResponsibilities:\nTechnical Leadership\nLead the day-to-day technical execution and oversight of development activities across assigned Agile teams.\nArchitect and guide the implementation of scalable, maintainable, and secure OutSystems-based solutions.\nChampion engineering best practices and ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security standards, platform governance, and application lifecycle management.\nEnsure technical solutions align with enterprise architecture, security standards, and platform governance practices.\nCoordinate with other Team Leads for platform operations, on-call support, environment management, and production incident resolution across teams.\nLead root cause analysis and resolution of production incidents, coordinating efforts across teams when necessary.\nMonitor delivery metrics, technical debt, platform health, and engineering quality indicators to support sustainable delivery and continuous improvement.\nFacilitate technical estimation, sprint planning, and capacity planning in partnership with Business Analysts, Scrum Masters, and stakeholders.\nEnsure technical documentation, operational processes, and team knowledge are maintained and accessible.\nDrive delivery predictability by proactively managing team commitments, risks, dependencies, and impediments across assigned Agile teams.\nBusiness Domain Ownership\nServe as the primary technology representative for assigned business domains, developing a strong understanding of business processes, challenges, and strategic objectives.\nBuild trusted relationships with business stakeholders, providing technical consultation and identifying opportunities for process improvements, automation, innovation, and product enhancements.\nPartner with Business Analysts and stakeholders to manage product backlogs, prioritize initiatives, and translate business objectives into technical roadmaps and delivery plans.\nTranslate business priorities into technical roadmaps, delivery plans, and actionable development initiatives.\nCollaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Designers, and Quality Assurance professionals to deliver end-to-end business solutions.\nHands-On Development Support\nServe as a mentor to developers of varying experience levels through coaching, peer reviews, knowledge sharing, and structured feedback.\nActively contribute to application development by delivering complex features, integrations, reusable frameworks, code reviews, troubleshooting, and sprint work as needed.\nFoster team growth and engineering excellence through pair programming, collaboration, knowledge sharing, retrospectives, and continuous feedback.\nParticipate in sprint work as a contributing developer when additional technical support is needed.\nSupport change management and release activities, including deployment verification, implementation planning, and production readiness reviews.\nWhat You Bring (Requirements):\nProven experience leading technical teams or mentoring developers in a collaborative, Agile/Scrum environment. \nAdvanced expertise in development and architecture design for web or mobile apps (Experience with OutSystems a plus) \nStrong knowledge of software development principles, including OOP, SOLID, MVC, and design patterns applicable to low-code platforms. \nProficiency in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive UI design. \nExperience with integration methodologies (REST, SOAP) and API-first development. \nIntermediate or advanced SQL and data modeling skills using platforms like SQL Server, Snowflake, or Oracle. \nPractical understanding of DevOps practices, including feature toggles, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based version control. \nHands-on experience using tools such as GitHub, Azure DevOps, Application Insights, Dynatrace, or similar for observability and reliability engineering. \nStrong debugging and troubleshooting skills using tools such as OutSystems Service Studio and browser dev tools. \nAbility to align technical efforts with business objectives and effectively communicate technical solutions to non-technical stakeholders. \nExperience making technical tradeoff decisions balancing speed, quality, risk, and maintainability.\nAbility to influence without direct authority.\nDemonstrated ability to build trusted relationships with business stakeholders and effectively balance business priorities with technical constraints.\nQualities that Stir Our Souls (and Make You Stand Out):\nBachelor’s degree in computer science, CIS, MIS, or equivalent experience. \nPrior experience managing environments across development, staging, and production. \nExperience leading multiple concurrent delivery streams or Agile teams.\nExposure to cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure or AWS. \nFamiliarity with SPA frameworks like React.js, Angular, or Vue.js. \nAwareness of tools like CoPilot, SonarLint, SonarQube for improving code quality and reducing technical debt.
