Job Purpose\nThe Cloud DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, automating, and maintaining cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling to enable efficient, secure, and reliable software delivery.\nThe role focuses on infrastructure automation, cloud operations, continuous integration and deployment, system monitoring, security, availability, disaster recovery, and cost optimization across development, UAT, and production environments.\n3. Key Accountabilities & Deliverables\nThe successful candidate will be responsible for delivering and maintaining:\nProvisioned, configured, and fully documented Development, UAT, and Production cloud environments.\nInfrastructure-as-Code (IaC) templates using Terraform, ARM, or Bicep.\nApproved and version-controlled cloud architecture and infrastructure diagrams.\nRegular cloud cost monitoring and optimization reports.\nFully automated CI/CD pipelines covering build, testing, deployment, and release processes.\nAutomated rollback and disaster recovery procedures.\nSystem and application monitoring dashboards.\nSLA/SLO-based alerting and notification configurations.\nMonthly system uptime and availability reports, including agreed availability targets such as 99.9%.\n Incident Root Cause Analysis (RCA) reports and corrective action plans.\nCloud security baselines aligned with applicable security and governance standards, including ISO 27001 and relevant national cybersecurity requirements.\nVulnerability assessment and patch compliance reports.\nIAM access control matrices, including roles, permissions, and access reviews.\nAudit logs and compliance evidence repositories.\nCloud backup policies, configurations, monitoring, and recovery procedures.\nTechnical documentation for infrastructure, deployments, operational procedures, and troubleshooting.\n4. Key Responsibilities\nA. CI/CD Pipeline Management\nDesign, implement, maintain, and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, Jenkins, GitLab CI, or equivalent tools.\nAutomate build, testing, deployment, and release workflows to minimize manual intervention and deployment risks.\nImplement deployment strategies such as Blue/Green, Rolling, and Canary deployments, where applicable.\nMonitor pipeline performance and troubleshoot build, deployment, and release failures.\nImplement automated quality gates, security checks, and approval processes within deployment pipelines.\nSupport development teams in adopting DevOps best practices.\nB. Infrastructure as Code & Automation\nDesign, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, ARM Templates, or Bicep.\nDevelop reusable and standardized infrastructure modules and automation scripts.\nMaintain infrastructure code in version-controlled repositories.\nEnsure infrastructure changes follow appropriate change management, review, and approval processes.\nPromote Infrastructure-as-Code practices across the Technology Services team.\nAutomate repetitive operational activities to improve efficiency and reliability.\nC. Cloud Operations\nProvision, configure, manage, and maintain cloud resources across Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.\nManage cloud compute, storage, networking, identity, security, and supporting services.\nMaintain separate and properly governed Dev, UAT, and Production environments.\nMonitor cloud resource utilization, performance, capacity, and availability.\nIdentify opportunities for cloud cost optimization and resource efficiency.\nEnsure cloud environments comply with organizational security, governance, and operational standards.\nD. Containerization & Kubernetes\nBuild, manage, and maintain containerized applications using Docker.\nDeploy and operate workloads on Kubernetes environments.\nManage Kubernetes configurations, deployments, services, ingress, secrets, and resource utilization.\nSupport container security, scalability, availability, and performance optimization.\nTroubleshoot container and Kubernetes-related operational issues.\nE. Monitoring, Availability & Incident Management\nImplement and maintain infrastructure and application monitoring solutions.\nDevelop dashboards and operational metrics to provide visibility into system health and performance.\nConfigure proactive alerts based on SLA, SLO, performance, and availability requirements.\nMonitor production environments and respond to operational incidents.\nParticipate in incident management, problem management, and service restoration activities.\nConduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for significant incidents and implement preventive actions.\nSupport continuous improvement of system reliability and availability.\nF. Backup & Disaster Recovery\nDesign and maintain cloud backup and recovery solutions.\nEnsure backup configurations meet business and operational requirements.\nRegularly monitor backup jobs and investigate failures.\nDevelop and maintain disaster recovery procedures and automation.\nParticipate in backup restoration and disaster recovery testing.\nMaintain documentation for recovery procedures, dependencies, and recovery objectives.\nH. Qualifications & Experience\nMinimum Educational Qualification\nBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or a related Engineering/Technology discipline.\nProfessional Certifications\nPreferred certifications include:\nMicrosoft Certified: DevOps Engineer Expert\nAWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Professional\nCertified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA) - preferred\nRelevant Terraform, cloud, or security certifications are an advantage.\nProfessional Experience\n3-5 years of proven experience in DevOps, Cloud Engineering, Platform Engineering, Infrastructure Engineering, or a closely related role.\nProven experience designing and implementing CI/CD pipelines.\nProven hands-on experience with cloud infrastructure and Infrastructure-as-Code.\nExperience supporting production environments and resolving infrastructure and deployment incidents.\nPractical experience with containerization and Kubernetes is highly desirable.\n7.
