We are looking for someone who shares our core values of Customer passion, Care, Collaboration, Curiosity, and Courage. \nAs an RF Engineer, you will develop, test and maintain RF and telemetry systems that support rocket and stratospheric balloon missions at Esrange Space Center in northern Sweden. Joining the Instrumentation team within Science Services’ Rocket and Balloon department, you will combine hands-on work on existing systems with development projects and operational support during customer campaigns. You will work closely with engineers and international customers, turning technical requirements into reliable solutions for ground systems and launch operations.\n\nREQUIREMENTS\nA bachelor’s or master’s degree in electronics, electrical engineering or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.\nA strong background in RF design, analysis and testing, preferably within telemetry, telecommunications or space technologies.\nExperience with RF system analysis, including link budgets, noise figure calculations and modulation techniques.\nHands-on experience with RF test and measurement equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, signal generators and RF analyzers.\nA practical approach to troubleshooting and an ability to translate technical requirements into workable solutions.\nGood collaboration skills and an interest in working across engineering disciplines in an international environment.\nGood communication skills in English, both written and spoken.\nA valid driver’s license and access to a car.\n\nExperience with network hardware integration, network programming and software development is an advantage. \n\nRESPONSIBILITIES\nDevelop, test, maintain and improve RF and telemetry systems at the Esrange Telemetry Station and across local installations.\nGather and analyze requirements from internal teams and external customers, and develop RF solutions that meet their needs.\nWork with systems engineers to design and integrate custom installations for stratospheric balloon and rocket operations, including hybrid rocket projects.\nPerform RF system analysis, including link budgets, noise figure calculations and assessment of modulation schemes.\nConfigure and operate RF equipment, including analyzers, signal generators, switch matrices, wideband recorders and receivers.\nSupport PCB design and layout in collaboration with engineering teams.\nSupport customer campaigns and launch operations, working with the Esrange Telemetry Station and customers’ mobile telemetry stations.\nPrepare technical documentation for design reviews, testing and system operation. \n\nBENEFITS\nWe offer you \nA unique opportunity to contribute to a wide range of projects and play an active role in both the Swedish and international space industry.\nAn excellent opportunity for personal and career development.\nAn exciting, international workplace characterized by an open atmosphere and proud employees all over the world.\n\nAdditional benefits \nIn addition to vacation and traditional public holidays, we offer extra paid leave throughout the year, such as time off between Christmas and New Year, Ascension Day, amounting to 6-11 extra days depending on the calendar.\nWellness allowance of SEK 5,000 per year.\nHealth benefits such as voluntary health insurance and regular health checks for eligible employees.\nAccess to a benefit bike through a tax-efficient leasing program.\nSupport for employee-driven activities that promote connection, health, and culture across teams.\nCollective Agreement, including good pensions plans, parental pay and insurance.\n\nLOCATION\nThis is a permanent full-time position located at Esrange Space Center, Kiruna.
