Description\nMobile Technical Lead\nLocations: Bucharest, Romania | Hybrid\nRole Overview\nSS&C Digital is seeking an experienced Mobile Technical Lead to provide technical leadership for the design, development and operation of secure, high-quality mobile applications built primarily with React Native.\nYou will lead the technical direction of cross-platform iOS and Android solutions used by customers, advisers and employers across SS&C’s financial-services businesses, combining hands-on development with architecture, engineering governance, mentoring and delivery leadership.\nWhat You Will Get To Do\nTechnical leadership\nDefine and maintain the technical architecture for React Native applications across iOS and Android.\nEstablish mobile engineering standards, reusable patterns and development guardrails.\nProvide technical direction to mobile developers and support teams in resolving complex engineering challenges.\nLead technical design discussions, document key decisions and communicate trade-offs to technical and non-technical stakeholders.\nEnsure effective integration with APIs, identity platforms and backend systems.\nBalance feature delivery with security, quality, performance and maintainability, addressing technical debt and platform risks.\nMaintain alignment between mobile engineering, enterprise architecture and product strategy.\nEngineering and delivery\nContribute directly to React Native and TypeScript development, particularly for complex or strategically important changes.\nReview pull requests and provide constructive technical guidance.\nGuide component design, state management, navigation, error handling and offline behaviour.\nOversee native-platform integrations and releases to the Apple App Store and Google Play Store.\nSupport backlog refinement, technical estimation and delivery planning.\nLead the resolution of complex production incidents and ensure corrective actions inform engineering priorities.\nSecurity and compliance\nEmbed secure development practices appropriate to regulated financial services.\nOversee authentication, authorisation, biometrics, token management and secure storage to protect personal and financial data.\nApply relevant mobile security standards, including OWASP MASVS, and work with security teams to resolve vulnerabilities and penetration-test findings.\nGovern third-party dependencies and support audit, risk and client-assurance activities with clear technical evidence.\nQuality and operational excellence\nDefine an effective mobile-testing strategy covering unit, component, integration, accessibility and end-to-end testing.\nPromote test automation using tools such as Jest, React Native Testing Library, Detox or Appium, and establish appropriate quality gates within CI/CD pipelines.\nEnsure effective monitoring, analytics and crash reporting to improve application stability and performance.\nEstablish reliable release practices, including feature flags, phased rollouts and recovery arrangements.\nEnsure applications meet WCAG 2.2 AA and relevant native-platform accessibility expectations.\nLeadership and collaboration\nMentor mobile engineers, set clear technical expectations and provide constructive feedback.\nBuild shared understanding across engineering, product, design and delivery teams.\nEncourage team ownership, accountability and continuous improvement.\nSupport technical recruitment and contribute reusable approaches to the wider engineering community.\nWhat You Will Bring\nStrong commercial experience developing and supporting production React Native applications for iOS and Android.\nPrevious experience as a Technical Lead, Lead Developer or Senior Mobile Engineer with technical-leadership responsibilities.\nAdvanced JavaScript, TypeScript and React skills, including hooks, navigation and state management.\nExperience making architectural decisions and integrating REST or GraphQL APIs.\nAbility to diagnose complex mobile performance, memory, rendering and platform-specific issues.\nStrong understanding of mobile authentication, secure storage, encryption and session management.\nExperience with automated testing, CI/CD, Git workflows and app-store releases.\nWorking knowledge of Xcode, Android Studio, CocoaPods and Gradle.\nUnderstanding of accessible mobile design.\nClear communication skills and experience mentoring engineers within distributed Agile teams.\nDesirable Skills and Experience\nNative iOS or Android development using Swift, Kotlin or Java.\nExperience with Expo, Fastlane or equivalent mobile delivery tools.\nFamiliarity with OAuth 2.0, OpenID Connect, MFA and identity platforms such as Keycloak.\nKnowledge of advanced mobile security controls and software supply-chain practices.\nExperience with mobile observability, remote configuration or shared design systems.\nExperience in financial services or
