As a VMware/ OpenShift Administrator, you will play a pivotal role in deploying, configuring, and maintaining VMware and OpenShift clusters while ensuring smooth operation and high availability of our applications. You will collaborate with the Engineering Team and as part of the operations teams to enhance our infrastructure and support continuous integration and delivery workflows.\nInstall, configure, and maintain VMware and OpenShift clusters on-premises.\nMonitor cluster performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal operation.\nManage user access and permissions within the OpenShift environment.\nImplement and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate application deployment.\nWork with development teams to optimize applications running on OpenShift.\nCreate and maintain documentation related to OpenShift configurations and procedures.\nStay updated with the latest OpenShift and Kubernetes features and best practices.\nCollaborate with security teams to implement best security practices for containerized applications.\nConversions from VMware to OpenShift\nAbility to Manage a VMware environment\nWhat You Will Bring:\n· OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) - hands-on administration on bare-metal on-prem (UPI/IPI), cluster lifecycle, upgrades, and multi-cluster operations.\n· Red Hat Advanced Cluster Management (RH-ACM) - multi-cluster fleet management: cluster lifecycle, governance, and application deployment from a central hub.\n· OpenShift GitOps / ArgoCD - declarative, Git-based management of cluster configuration, operators, and workloads across many clusters, including policy-driven governance.\n· OpenShift Virtualization (OCP-Virt / KubeVirt) - deploying and operating VMs, live migration, VM templates, and instance types.\n· Migration Toolkit for Virtualization (MTV) - hands-on migration experience from VMware vSphere and/or RHV.\n· Kubernetes clusters and workloads; Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) administration.\n· Guest OS breadth - both Linux and Windows VMs in containerized/virtualized environments.\n· VMware vSphere - vCenter, ESXi, clusters, networking (vDS), and storage (vSphere datastore) - enough to plan and execute migrations from it.\n· Automation - Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform and/or Python for infrastructure and migration automation.\n· Networking & Storage fundamentals - OVN-Kubernetes, SDN, multi-path storage, ODF/Ceph, NFS/iSCSI/FC integration.\n· Consulting skills - customer-facing communication, workshop facilitation, documentation, expectation management, and translating business requirements into technical solutions.\nPreferred / Nice to Have\n· Experience operating large multi-cluster estates (15+ clusters / 5,000+ VMs) across multiple data centers or availability zones.\n· GitOps at fleet scale - ArgoCD ApplicationSets, sync waves, and multi-tenant AppProjects; Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform); CI/CD pipeline exposure.\n· Policy-as-code & compliance automation - Open Policy Agent / Gatekeeper, Compliance Operator, CIS benchmark scanning, and automated remediation at fleet scale.\n· Observability - Prometheus, Grafana, OpenShift Monitoring, logging (Loki/EFK).\n· Live migration at scale, workload density tuning, and performance baselining on bare metal.\nWe encourage applications from people of all backgrounds to enable us to bring diverse perspectives to our thinking and conversation.
