Collaborate with engineers and managers to identify and mitigate engineering and quality risks, support informed decision-making, and conduct peer reviews of key issues.\nDevelop technical scopes and specifications for new underground cable projects as well as modifications to existing assets.\nReview cable system prequalification and type testing reports in preparation for SSEN approval, reviewing and verifying contractor/consultant detailed underground cable system designs, witnessing factory and relevant discipline site acceptance testing.\nPromote and manage safety within your assigned projects through the implementation of CDM procedures and best practice, ensuring all engineering activities comply with relevant company, HSE and industry regulations.\nYou have\nA degree, HND or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, or significant relevant industry experience. Senior Engineers will ideally be a Chartered Engineer in a relevant institution or working towards chartered status.\nYou will have demonstrable experience in transmission development, design and specification, with the ability to evaluate engineering challenges and work with others to identify effective technical solutions.\nTo be successful in applying for this role, you will have experience working on the Transmission Network and a strong knowledge of High Voltage Cable systems.\nYou will have an awareness of the legal and regulatory obligations for Transmission and be proactive in ensuring these are met to the highest standard. This includes a technical understanding of relevant legislation and the implications of this for Transmission network management for both Assets and Projects, including CDM & ESQCR, is essential.\nStrong communication skills are essential, with the ability to present complex technical information clearly and concisely to support decision-making by senior stakeholders. You'll be confident working alongside key stakeholders at all levels, both internally and externally, and building strong, lasting relationships.\nWe welcome applications from candidates both within and outside the electricity transmission industry.
