You'll be expected to spend at least 50% of your working week in one of these locations.\nSalary: £50,964 - £60,899 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.\nWorking Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available\nThe role\nWe have an opportunity for a CAD Engineer to work as part of the Large Capital Delivery Team, which develops designs for a wide range of construction projects within the UK.\nYou will produce accurate plans, elevations, assembly layouts, operation diagrams, schematic and protection/wiring diagrams and other drawings, giving consideration to safety matters at all stages.\nThis role involves electrical substation, overhead line, underground cable, and subsea cable work.\nYou will\nProvide modelling, design, and drafting support on your assigned project(s) to develop and optimise Substation layouts to SSE requirements.\nBe involved in project options and development assessments, conceptual designs and developing work on BIM standards and model libraries.\nBe the main point of contact for all project graphical representation works.\nDevelop models, drawings, schematics, diagrams, maps, and other documentation as required, on time and to requisite standards.\nYou have\nAn engineering qualification in a relevant subject (HND minimum)\nExperienced and proficient with Autodesk AutoCAD software.\nExperience in the design and construction of high voltage electrical projects on distribution networks (up to and including 132kV).\nStrong interpersonal and communication skills are essential.\nA full UK driving licence is preferred as there will be a requirement for regular travel to site.\nWe are also currently developing and implementing 3D modelling capabilities therefore proficiency in Revit, Vault and Civil 3D would be beneficial but not essential.\nAbout SSE\nSSE’s purpose is to be restless every day until we make electricity clean, affordable and available for all.\nWe do this by developing, building, operating and investing in electricity infrastructure and businesses needed in the energy transition.
