# Design Engineer

Base Location: Thatcham, Reading or Portsmouth/Havant. You'll be expected to spend 50% of your working week in one of these locations. Salary: £64,085 - £76,581 + a range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family. Working Pattern: Permanent | Full Time | Flexible First options available The role This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering major electrical infrastructure projects, helping to shape designs from early feasibility through to construction. Working closely with framework partners and stakeholders, you'll ensure designs are practical, high-quality and deliver the best outcomes while effectively managing risk, cost and programme requirements. You will Be responsible for the design assessment of projects including the evaluation in terms of value and risk. Manage and develop the engineering design from feasibility studies through to detailed design with framework partners to ensure projects are maintaining quality control of design outputs in line with SSEN standards, Ensure all works are carried out safely (on site) through the application of SSE safety family and five golden rules.
