You’ll be working at the forefront of data innovation, helping us visualise, analyse and manage complex spatial information that underpins decision making and infrastructure planning across the business.\nYou will\nCreate and maintain robust and large GIS datasets, ensuring this is relevant, up to date, cleansed, and meets SSEN integrity and quality standards, including appropriate metadata.\nProvide first-class GIS and cartographic support, including preparation of maps and plans, the creation and revision of databases within Enterprise portal, the building of online Apps, programming and scripting tools and processes, 3D visualisation and mobile mapping techniques.\nSupport the delivery of individual tasks and wider business processes through identification and design of innovative and technically complex GIS solutions, applications, and workflows.\nDeliver training and technical support to colleagues across the business who use GIS, supporting in its growth and development.\nFacilitate the integration of GIS with other technologies, and support in the sharing of information and data to develop and protect internal and external stakeholder relationships.\nYou have\nGIS-related degree or equivalent experience with knowledge of GIS programming/scripting languages (e.g. Python, SQL, Arcade).\nExpertise in ESRI's ArcGIS suite, including 3D and Spatial Analyst extensions, ESRI Enterprise portal and ArcGIS Online Web GIS.\nFamiliarisation with a diverse range of data types including terrestrial and marine data.\nSubstantial and deep knowledge of the use and potential of GIS based systems, coupled with a deep understanding of the core principles of GIS and data management.\nUnderstanding of Major Projects Governance Framework, ethos, gates, and requirements within energy networks or similar.\nAbout SSE\nSSE’s purpose is to be restless every day until we make electricity clean, affordable and available for all.\nWe do this by developing, building, operating and investing in electricity infrastructure and businesses needed in the energy transition.
