In this role, you will guide electrical engineering strategy and execution from early planning through construction and startup, ensuring safe, code-compliant, and constructible designs for tool power, distribution, grounding, equipment connections, and facility modifications. You will work closely with project managers, discipline leaders, clients, vendors, and contractors to resolve technical issues, manage scope and change, and maintain design quality through formal reviews and QA/QC gates. This position also plays a key role in mentoring staff, supporting business development, managing departmental performance, and strengthening client relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the electrical engineering department supporting tool install projects, including staffing, workload planning, performance management, mentoring, and technical development of team members.
  • Oversee electrical design execution for semiconductor tool install and facility modification projects, including power distribution, equipment hookup, grounding, raceway routing, emergency power, and related support systems.
  • Direct development and review of electrical calculations, load analyses, short-circuit and coordination studies, voltage drop checks, equipment sizing, and constructability reviews.
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary project teams, including process, mechanical, structural, controls, and architecture, to align electrical scope with project objectives and site requirements.
  • Establish and implement QA/QC processes, internal design reviews, and technical standards to ensure accurate, code-compliant, and reliable deliverables.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, vendors, and project managers during pre-design, detailed design, construction, and startup to support issue resolution, submittal review, and field execution.
  • Manage scope, schedule, budget, and change control for electrical department deliverables, including tracking risks, assumptions, and design impacts throughout project execution.
  • Prepare and support proposals, fee estimates, staffing plans, and technical input for business development efforts and client presentations.
  • Ensure designs reflect applicable electrical codes, standards, safety requirements, and owner-specific criteria for semiconductor and advanced manufacturing environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
  • Active Professional Engineer license in the state of practice, or the ability to obtain reciprocity within an agreed timeframe is highly preferred.
  • Progressive electrical engineering experience, with demonstrated work in industrial, advanced manufacturing, semiconductor, or other high-tech facilities.
  • Proven leadership experience managing technical teams with direct reports, including coaching, mentoring, performance development, and workload planning.
  • Strong background in electrical engineering design for tool install, equipment hookup, facility power distribution, and related systems in complex production environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and review electrical calculations, coordinate design packages, and maintain high standards of technical quality and constructability.
  • Experience collaborating with project managers, discipline leads, clients, contractors, and vendors across all project phases from planning through startup.
  • Proven ability to manage departmental budgets and support project financial performance, staffing, and resource planning.
  • Experience contributing to business development activities, including client interaction, proposal support, and presentation delivery.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills with the ability to influence and effectively interact at all organizational levels.
  • Salary Range: $130,000 - $200,000/year depending on location, education, depth of relevant experience, and any specialized licensure/certifications. Opportunity for ample rewards, leadership incentive components, and generous bonus opportunities.
  • Benefits: Includes comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401K retirement savings plan (with company matching), opportunities for professional development and training (including support for relevant licensure & certifications), and generous PTO & paid holidays.
