Working under the direction of senior layout staff and discipline leads, you will help develop practical, code compliant, and constructible layout solutions that support schedule, safety, and quality goals. From day one, you’ll receive the training and support needed to leverage AI as a core tool for enhancing productivity, sparking creativity, and streamlining complex workflows.\nResponsibilities\nAssist with planning production facilities and equipment layouts, learning to evaluate efficient use of space and process flow design constraints.\nInterpret supplier equipment drawings and requirements; develop tool CAD blocks (2D and/or 3D) or Revit RFAs based on supplier drawings.\nSupport development of manufacturing process layouts based on client tool quantities, priorities, and goby information for greenfield and retrofit spaces.\nAssist with design calculations, routing evaluations, and technical assessments for process utilities, support systems, and equipment interfaces, with review by senior staff.\nPrepare drawings, models, and documentation for tool connections, equipment clearances, utility routing, service access, and integration with existing facility systems.\nSupport coordination with project managers, discipline leads, vendors, and contractors to help resolve design requirements and interface conflicts.\nAttend design reviews, client meetings, and coordination workshops; capture comments and incorporate feedback into revisions.\nParticipate in site walks, verify field conditions, and help identify clashes, interferences, or scope gaps.\nHelp document risks related to schedule, installation sequencing, safety, access, and operational continuity within active production facilities.\nCompile as built information, redlines, closeout comments, and construction support documentation to support package turnover.\nFollow client safety protocols, cleanroom requirements, and facility standards, with attention to contamination control, access limitations, and operational sensitivity.\nBuild working knowledge of National Fire Code and National Electrical Code layout restrictions and requirements.\nQualifications\nBachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or related engineering discipline, or equivalent layout experience.\n\nApproximately 2+ years of relevant experience supporting semiconductor, high tech, cleanroom, tool install, or process equipment installation projects; internship or co-op experience considered.\n\nWorking knowledge of, or coursework in, layout philosophies: product line, process layout, cellular manufacturing, densepack vs flexible layouts.\n\nInterest in and developing understanding of tool hookup design, subfab rack and lateral systems, utility coordination, and facility modification in semiconductor fabrication environments.\n\nAbility to read and mark up drawings with attention to constructability, safety, and code compliance.\n\nClear, professional written and verbal communication with internal teams, vendors, and contractors.\n\nExposure to Automated Material Handling systems is a plus.\n\nProficient with AutoCAD; exposure to Revit desirable. Organized, with the ability to track multiple assignments, review cycles, and deadlines.\n\nWillingness to learn, take direction, and follow technical issues through to resolution.\n\nSalary Range: $70,000 - $100,000/year depending on location, education, depth of relevant experience, and any specialized licensure/certifications.
