We offer three weeks vacation after your first year of employment, affordable on-site parking, onsite fitness facility with a one-time access fee and much more!\nVisit St.Amant online atwww.stamant.ca\nPosition Summary\nProvides services in accordance with the Mission and Values of St.Amant, the goals and objectives of Corporate Resource Services and promotes a customer service focus in the provision of indirect services to the people we support at St.Amant, our visitors and customers.\nThe Groundskeeper is responsible for working collaboratively with the Facility Manager, Maintenance Lead Hand and coworkers of Facility Services to support St.Amant by providing excellent customer service when performing the range of duties and responsibilities as outlined in this job description.\nQualifications:\nEducational:\nRecognized certificate or diploma in Practical Horticulture or Grounds Keeping, or applicable grounds keeping experience will be considered\nGrade XII Diploma or Certificate\nProficiency in the English language that enables the incumbent to complete any reading and or writing requirements necessary to perform all aspects of the position in a safe and timely manner\nProfessional:\nSeveral years work experience in grounds keeping and small engine repair\nExperience with and operational knowledge of mechanical equipment and tools used in the maintenance of the property\nExperience in repair and maintenance of grounds keeping equipment\nExperience with minor upkeep of vehicles, snowmobile and tractor\nKnowledge of occupational hazards and safe work procedures\nAbility to record data manually and using various software programs\nValid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s license\nPersonal:\nCommunicates professionally with customers, coworkers and external partners and establishes and maintains effective working relationships\nFunctions effectively as a team member and demonstrate a strong collaborative approach to problem solving\nCorrectly interprets and applies the policies, procedures, laws and regulations including but not limited to safety, routine work responsibilities, prevention and maintenance programs, clients and staff\nSits, stands, walks, kneels, crouches, squats, crawls, twists and climbs as necessary to perform work responsibilities in a timely manner\nAbility to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty environment both inside and outside, and in confining spaces\nPhysically capable of meeting the demands of the position and in good health and able to maintain a satisfactory attendance record\nDuties and Responsibilities:\nEnsures the Greenhouse, Garage, Storage Shed and Compound are kept clean and orderly at the end of each day\nRetrieves Work Requests from the HIPPO Maintenance Management System regularly throughout the normal working day\nResponds to all types of maintenance Work Orders as assigned by the Shop Head or Designate\nCuts and trims lawns, plants and waters flowers, fertilizes plants and lawns, maintains shrub beds, removes litter and perform other related grounds maintenance duties indoors and outdoors\nMaintains indoor gardens and courtyard\nMaintains playground areas\nPlants trees, shrubs, flowers, installs sod and performs other related landscaping duties\nOperates hand mowers, string trimmers, snow blowers, pumps and other small engine powered equipment\nOperates vans, tractors, riding mowers and related implements\nClears snow and spreads traction grit in parking lots and at building entrances, sidewalks, stairways and platforms\nCleans streets, curbs, drains and catch basins\nCleans and washes vehicles\nAssists with special event setup when needed\nMoves materials and equipment as required\nThe above information is intended to describe the general nature of this position and is not considered to be a complete statement of duties and responsibilities.
