The engineer will focus on deploying and managing IoT edge infrastructure, ensuring seamless data flow from shopfloor assets to cloud platforms, and developing application dashboards to visualize real-time operational data for enhanced efficiency and decision-making.\nKey Job Accountabilities\n1. IoT Infrastructure, Edge & Shopfloor Connectivity\nDeploy, maintain, and support edge devices, sensors, and industrial communication networks across shopfloor machinery and facility systems.\n\nSupport the onboarding of new machines, equipment, and facilities onto the company’s IoT platform.\n\nConfigure and maintain industrial communication protocols (e.g., Modbus, OPC UA, MQTT) for reliable data extraction.\n\nExecute regular firmware, software, and security updates on edge hardware, servers, and connected gateways.\n\n2. Application Development & Data Visualization\nDesign and develop custom applications and dashboards to visualize real-time shopfloor data from IoT systems, driving actionable operational insights.\n\nBuild user-centric software tools (using languages like Python, C++, or low-code industrial suites like PTC ThingWorx) to connect shopfloor workflows with higher-level IT/OT systems.\n\nExplore and integrate Augmented Reality (AR) or Computer Vision applications to overlay digital IoT data onto physical shopfloor operations.\n\n3. Operational Monitoring & Incident Resolution\nContinuously monitor system health and troubleshoot end-to-end data flow issues-from physical sensors up to cloud-based dashboards.\n\nInvestigate and resolve incidents regarding network connectivity, data quality, system performance degradation, and hardware failures.\n\nMaintain comprehensive technical documentation, including asset inventories, network topology diagrams, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).\n\n4. Project Leadership & Stakeholder Management\nDevelop business cases (ROI, NPV, operational impact) for new IoT and digitalization initiatives.\n\nCollaborate with maintenance, engineering, central IT, and external vendors to ensure IoT solutions are secure, scalable, and standardized across sites.\n\nConduct training sessions and deliver continuous support to end-users on the shopfloor.\n\nRequired Experience and Qualifications\nEducation & Experience\nDegree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.\n\nMinimum 3 years of experience in Aviation MRO, Manufacturing, or Industrial Automation environments.\n\nTechnical Skills & Competencies\nProgramming: Proficient in at least one programming language (preferably Python or C++) for software/application development.\n\nIndustrial Protocols: Strong understanding of industrial networking and protocols (e.g., Modbus TCP/RTU, OPC UA, MQTT).\n\nSystems Administration: Practical knowledge of Linux and Windows Server environments.\n\nIoT Platforms: Experience with industrial IoT tools such as PTC Kepware, PTC ThingWorx, or similar platforms is a strong advantage.\n\nAR/VR & Vision: Experience in Unity (for AR/VR application development) or Computer Vision is a plus.\n\nNetworking & Security: Basic knowledge of industrial network architecture, remote device management, and OT cybersecurity practices.\n\nSoft Skills\nStrong analytical mind with a proactive approach to troubleshooting complex end-to-end IT/OT issues.\n\nProven ability to manage projects and interface effectively between shopfloor technicians, IT teams, and senior stakeholders.\n\nClear verbal and written communication skills for delivering documentation, business cases, and user
