Knowledge of pool activities and operations. Seasonal employment\nEssential Duties and Responsibilities\nSupervises swimmers and their activities.\nMaintains the cleanliness of the pool and area facility.\nPerforms rescue and first aid as necessary.\nFiles any accident and/or rescue reports as they occur.\nExecutes excellent customer service.\nAssists with opening/closing duties.\nAttends required in-service trainings.\nMaintains an attentive lookout for potential accidents in the swimming pool and surrounding facility and appropriately corrects any problems.\nEnforces pool rules & regulations.\nMaintains the cleanliness of the pool/gate/restroom facility.\nMonitors waterslides for proper patron use and dispatches swimmers (only 16 years and up.)\nOther Duties and Responsibilities\nPerforms all other related duties as assigned.\nEmployee Behavior and Conduct\nCity employees shall conduct themselves in a professional manner and shall exhibit and extend such professional conduct appropriate for the circumstances to those with whom they come into contact both internally and externally during the performance of their duties. Examples of professional conduct include, but are not limited to, being communicative, informative, fair, honest and respectful.\nRequired (Essential) Knowledge, Skills and Abilities\nSkills in effective operation of the pool and swimmers.\nRegular and predictable attendance.\nMust be available to work irregular hours and at various intervals, including weekends, holiday and evening hours.\nMust be responsible and work well with people of all ages and dispositions.\nMust have American Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR, AED, or ability to obtain. Current certification cards must be presented before employment.\nMust be at least 15 years of age.\nMaterial and Equipment Directly Used\nMaterials and equipment used in rescue procedure. Knowledge of first aid supplies, CPR, AED equipment. Supplies used in maintenance and upkeep of the pool. There may be times when use of personal vehicle may be required.\nWorking Conditions/Physical Requirements\nWork is performed in an outside setting, including cold, dust, dirt, exposure to chemicals and extreme heat. Must be able to stand, walk and sit for extended periods of time. Must have the ability to routinely lift objects weighing as much as 20 pounds, occasionally assist lifting objects weighing excess of 100 pounds. Some overnight or day travel may be required for business purposes. Vacation and other leave scheduling shall be requested off and approved by the appropriate supervisor.\nEducation\nAttending High School or have graduated.
