Together with our partners and participants, we cultivate communities where people are progressively seen, accepted, challenged, and supported.\nGENERAL SUMMARY\nThe Warehouse Associate is a vital member of the St. Matthew’s House Food Assistance Team, responsible for assisting with logistics, maintaining inventory integrity, and supporting the organization’s mission through hands-on leadership and community engagement. This role requires initiative, professionalism, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively. Associates are expected to uphold high standards of safety, efficiency, and service while interacting with donors, volunteers, and staff. As a key link between the warehouse and other departments, this position plays an essential role in ensuring that donated goods are processed, stored, and distributed in a timely and mission-aligned manner.\nDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES\nSafely operate company vehicles for donation pickups and deliveries \nLoad, unload, and organize goods to maximize warehouse efficiency \nMaintain accurate inventory records and assist with stock rotation \nCoordinate with retail and outreach teams to fulfill supply requests \nEnsure compliance with safety protocols and cleanliness standards \nProvide excellent customer service during donation pickups \nOperate manual, electric pallet jacks, and forklifts to move heavy inventory \nInspect incoming donations for quality and suitability \nAssist with pantry donation sorting, tagging, stocking, and categorization \nProvide helpful customer service by registering guests using SIMC. \nMaintain accurate records and organized workflows through SIMC and Calendly. \nSupport donation drives and community outreach events \nTrain and mentor new warehouse assistants \nPrepare and stage outgoing program pantry orders. \nConduct routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs \nCollaborate with supervisors to improve warehouse workflow and efficiency \nLead FIFO (First-In, First-Out) procedures to ensure proper inventory rotation for the community choice pantry, mobile food distributions, and program order fulfillment. \nPerform daily temperature checks on all refrigerators and freezers to ensure food safety compliance \nReport and log any temperature discrepancies or equipment malfunctions \nEnsure proper storage of perishable items according to health and safety guidelines \nAssist in maintaining food safety documentation and compliance with food bank site inspections \nAssists Program Director with annual inventory audits. \nAssist with leading volunteer groups in the warehouse, community mobile food distributions, providing guidance, safety instruction, and task coordination. \nRequirements\nAbility to work under a deadline, both with others and independently. \nExcellent customer service, communication, organizational and time-management skills. \nValid driver’s license (required) \nMust be able to drive a 26ft refrigerated box truck \nAbility to operate a manual and electric pallet jack and forklift (preferred or certifiable) \nPrevious warehouse or logistics experience preferred \nAbility to lift 50 lbs. and work in a physically demanding environment \nStrong organizational skills \nUpholds our mission and core values of St. Matthew’s House \nBasic computer literacy \nAbility to follow written and verbal instructions accurately \nPunctuality and reliability in attendance and task completion \nWillingness to work flexible hours, including weekends if needed \nPositive attitude and ability to work well in a team environment \nSPECIFICATIONS:\nEducation: High School diploma or equivalent preferred.\nExperience: Some warehouse experience necessary but will train.\nConfidentiality: Does not work with confidential information.\nMental/Visual Demands: Flow of work requires normal mental and visual capabilities.
