Supervision includes expectation setting, leadership development, performance evaluation, improvement plans and performance documentation and discipline.\nSupport the community development model through programming, events and social connections.\nSupport residential education initiatives such as Community Councils/the Residence Hall Association, Residential Learning Communities, and community programming.\n\nManagement/Operations Responsibilities.Create a working relationship and establish a routine meeting structure with the facilities team (i.e. maintenance, trades and custodial services). \nManage residential area budget for programmatic and developmental initiatives.\nCoordinate processes, including but not limited to: room inventories, room changes, health and safety inspections, work orders, damage billing, and opening and closing of the residence halls.\nMaintain and update the housing and occupancy management database.\nSupport marketing, communications and public outreach initiatives.\n\nStudent Care, Wellbeing, Conduct and Community StandardsEstablish and maintain contact with students and address student needs and concerns.\nServe in an all-campus on-call rotation.\nClearly document concerns and incidents via appropriate campus reporting procedures.\nServe as a hearing officer, adjudicate cases, and hear appeals as assigned.\n\nCollege Contributions.Be front facing within the residence halls and at campus events.\nServe on task forces and initiatives to support a diverse and creative residential experience. \nParticipate in new student recruitment and yield and orientation events.\nParticipate in benchmark data initiatives.\nEngage in foundation levels of qualitative and quantitative data analysis.\n\nSupport, respect, and commit to embracing diverse backgrounds, values, and points of view to build a strong and inclusive community.\nComplete and meet deadlines for required training and performance management cycle.\nPerform other duties as assigned.\nSupervision Received and Exercised:\nReports to the Assistant Director of Residence Education.\nThis position supervises student workers.\nRequired Qualifications:\nEducation: Bachelor’s Degree; maintain a valid driver’s license and meet St. Olaf College driver authorization with a satisfactory driving record.\n\nExperience: 2+ years residence life live-in experience; 1+year programming experience\nMust live on-campus in the apartment provided.Apartment is partially furnished.\n\nPreferred Qualifications:\nEducation: Master’s degree in student personnel or related field.\n\nExperience: 1+ year of professional/graduate live-in experience.\n\nPrerequisites:\nEmployment in this position is conditioned upon successful completion of a background check which may include: criminal background checks, reference checks, verification of work history, verification of any required academic credentials, licenses, and/or certifications, a motor vehicle check, verification of DOT certification, a credit check, employment eligibility verification, and/or a pre-employment physical.
