This role works closely with Legal, Engineering, Finance, and People teams to ensure IT controls are embedded across key business processes and that audit requirements are met consistently across the organization.\nStackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are open to candidates located anywhere in Canada for this position.\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\nLead the planning, execution, and reporting of IT audits including SOC1, SOC2, and financial statement audits, coordinating with external auditors and internal stakeholders\nExecute on the established IPO-readiness plan by implementing and monitoring IT general controls (ITGCs) and SOX compliance frameworks across the organization\nIdentify control gaps, assess risk exposure, and develop actionable remediation plans in partnership with Engineering, Finance, and Legal teams\nBuild and evolve AI-enabled audit workflows to improve efficiency, reduce manual effort, and scale compliance operations to meet public company requirements\nManage and develop team members, setting clear expectations, providing coaching, and fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement\nMonths 1-2: Onboard into active audit cycles, take ownership of SOC1/SOC2 deliverables, and establish relationships with key cross-functional partners\nMonths 3-4: Lead a full cycle of IT controls testing, identify gaps in the current ITGC framework, and advance execution of established SOX readiness priorities\nMonths 5-6: Deliver a progress update on IPO-readiness execution milestones and present a roadmap for AI-enabled audit process improvements to leadership\nSuccessful completion of all three external audits (financial statement, SOC1, SOC2) with no material findings\nOn-track execution of SOX/ITGC IPO-readiness milestones within first 6 months\nMeasurable reduction in manual audit effort through AI and automation initiatives\nStakeholder satisfaction scores from cross-functional partners (Engineering, Legal, Finance)\nTeam development milestones met - direct reports progressing against defined growth plans\nWhat You'll Bring to the Table\n5+ years of experience in IT audit, internal controls, or information security, with at least 2 years in a people management capacity\nDemonstrated expertise in SOC1/SOC2 audits, IT general controls (ITGCs), and SOX compliance frameworks\nActive CISA (Certified Information Systems Auditor) certification required\nProven ability to manage multiple concurrent audit programs in a fast-paced, high-growth environment\nExperience leveraging automation or AI tools to improve audit workflows and compliance processes\nStrong communicator with the ability to translate complex technical controls into clear, business-relevant insights for senior stakeholders\nCPA designation is considered a strong asset\nThe compensation range listed for this role reflects the expected base salary for candidates located in the posting country based on a global rate. It is informed by market data and the approved budget for this position. StackAdapt maintains different compensation ranges for roles across other countries and regions, and final offers will be aligned to the candidate’s current location. We do not ask candidates about current or prior salary history, and we will not use such information, if volunteered, in setting an offer.\nThis range represents base salary only.
