The most forward-thinking marketers choose StackAdapt to orchestrate high-impact campaigns across programmatic advertising and marketing channels.\nWe're looking for a detail-oriented and compliance-focused Payroll Specialist to join our Finance team on a temporary basis to support a high-priority initiative involving the creation of a new US LLC, the wind-down of the existing US Branch, and the end-to-end implementation of a new global payroll provider. This role will work closely with the Finance, Legal, and People Operations teams to ensure seamless execution across all project workstreams. You'll collaborate with external advisors, payroll vendors, and internal stakeholders to meet regulatory deadlines and ensure compliance at every stage. This role reports to the Senior Global Payroll Manager.\nStackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are open to candidates located anywhere in Canada for this position.\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\nSupport the payroll and compliance workstream for the US Branch to US LLC transition.\nAssist with deregistration and final filings for the existing US Branch across ~36 state and local jurisdictions.\nExecute state and local payroll tax registrations for the new US LLC.\nAssist with payroll setup, tax configuration, testing, and initial processing under the new entity.\nCollaborate with internal teams (Tax, Legal, HR, Finance) and external partners (ADP, tax agencies) on transition deliverables.\nTrack deadlines, dependencies, filings, registrations, and open items throughout the transition and identify and escalate risks or compliance gaps.\nSupport the payroll implementation workstream for the migration of StackAdapt's entities to a new global payroll provider following the US LLC transition.\nSupport implementation activities including data preparation and migration, payroll configuration, integration coordination, validation, testing, parallel payroll runs, issue resolution, and go-live readiness.\nCoordinate with the global payroll provider, internal stakeholders, and payroll teams across multiple countries to ensure implementation milestones and dependencies are met.\nMaintain detailed project documentation, payroll requirements, testing results, issue logs, and implementation sign-offs.\nSupport a controlled transition to the new global payroll provider while maintaining payroll accuracy, compliance, and business continuity throughout the migration.\nWhat You'll Bring to the Table\nKnowledge of US payroll, payroll tax, and multi-state compliance requirements.\nExperience managing payroll projects, implementations, entity transitions, or similar initiatives.\nStrong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to independently manage timelines, deadlines, dependencies, and multiple stakeholders.\nHighly detail-oriented, accountable, and thorough, with a strong focus on accuracy and follow-through.\nProven ability to take ownership of complex work from planning through execution, identify risks early, and proactively drive issues to resolution.\nStrong communication, collaboration and technical (Excel / Google worksheet) skills, with the ability to work effectively across Payroll, Finance, Tax, Legal, HR, vendors, and external stakeholders.\nEngagement details:\nThis is a temporary engagement, with the possibility of extension.\nRemote-first, with flexibility to be located anywhere in Canada.\nCompetitive hourly rate commensurate with senior motion design experience.\nAccess to StackAdapt's tooling, AI platforms, and programmatic courses and certifications to support the engagement.\nA friendly, welcoming, and supportive culture, with the opportunity to shape high-impact programs at a fast-scaling company.\nThe compensation range listed for this role reflects the expected base hourly pay for candidates located in the posting country based on a global rate. It is informed by market data and the approved budget for this position. StackAdapt maintains different compensation ranges for roles across other countries and regions, and final offers will be aligned to the candidate’s current location.
