Reporting directly to the Senior Tax Manager, you will gain hands-on visibility across corporate income tax, indirect tax, and ASC 740 provisions, working shoulder-to-shoulder with finance partners, external advisors, and cross-functional teams.\nIf you have a solid foundation in Canadian corporate tax and want to expand your toolkit into US state/federal, global compliance, and modern tax automation, this role could be right for you.\nStackAdapt is a Remote First company; we are open to candidates located anywhere in Canada for this position.\nWhy You’ll Love This Role\n True Cross-Border Exposure: Transition from Canadian tax into US and international regimes (including T106/T1134 filings, foreign affiliate rules, and multi-state compliance) with hands-on mentorship.\nHigh-Visibility Collaboration: Work directly with senior leadership, Legal, Treasury, and People teams to see how tax strategy directly influences commercial decisions.\nInnovation & AI: Experiment with AI tools and automation to eliminate manual routine tasks, rethink legacy processes, and streamline reporting.\nWhat You'll Be Doing:\nTax Accounting & Reporting: Co-lead quarterly and annual income tax provisions under ASC 740, including building/updating provision models, calculating return-to-provision true-ups, preparing audit-ready financial statement disclosures, and liaising with external auditors.\nGlobal Compliance: Coordinate corporate tax compliance across Canadian, US, and international entities alongside external advisory firms, managing the process from data gathering to review.\nCross-Border Filings: Support Canadian international compliance, including T106s, T1134s, and foreign affiliate reporting.\nIndirect Tax Management: Support indirect tax workflows across jurisdictions, including Canadian GST/HST/QST, international VAT/GST, and US sales tax.\nAudit & Advisory Support: Assist in drafting responses to tax authority audits and inquiries, working closely with external advisors and internal stakeholders.\nCash & Forecasting: Manage global tax payments and installments in partnership with Treasury and AP, maintaining real-time accuracy in the cash forecast.\nOperational Modernization: Partner with Accounting, Legal, and HR on entity expansion, and champion the use of AI and automation to enhance tax data workflows.\nWhat You'll Bring to the Table\n Foundational Expertise: CPA designation (or actively pursuing) with 3-5 years of progressive corporate tax experience gained within public accounting or an in-house corporate tax function.\nTechnical Foundation: A strong working knowledge of Canadian corporate income tax principles and compliance.\nNice to Have: Prior exposure to US tax, international tax, indirect tax, or ASC 740 provisions is a definite asset-but not a dealbreaker. If you bring the curiosity and willingness to learn, we’ll provide the coaching and support to get you up to speed.\nEnd-to-End Ownership: A self-starter mindset with the ability to shepherd projects from data collection to final filing while keeping stakeholders aligned.\nClear Communication: Ability to distill complex tax concepts into clear, actionable advice for non-tax colleagues across the organization.\nAgility & Curiosity: Comfort navigating fast-paced environments, managing competing deadlines, and continuously asking, \"How can we make this process smarter?\"\nThe compensation range listed for this role reflects the expected base salary for candidates located in the posting country based on a global rate. It is informed by market data and the approved budget for this position. StackAdapt maintains different compensation ranges for roles across other countries and regions, and final offers will be aligned to the candidate’s current location.
