A key component of the role is to explore and support the practical application of AI, automation and emerging\ntechnologies, identifying opportunities to automate repetitive processes, improve workflows, access information / reporting, enhance customer and employee experiences, and deliver measurable business value. Working across front-end and back-end development, the role collaborates with cross-functional teams to\nunderstand business architect requirements, and translate them into practical, scalable and user-focused technology, automation and AI enabled solutions, while contributing to the organisation’s technology roadmap.\nKey Accountabilities\nDesign, develop, test and maintain scalable web applications across front-end interfaces, back-end services, APIs, databases and system integrations.\nAssist with the development and enhancement of web-based applications, including the Shopify storefront and internal business applications.\nDevelop and support integrations across platforms including Shopify, Cin7 Core, Xero, HubSpot, Klaviyo and other business applications, ensuring reliable data flow between systems.\nDesign, develop and maintain SQL databases, tables, queries, stored procedures and data structures, with a focus on data integrity, performance and scalability.\nWork hands-on within an AI-driven development framework, using modern AI development tools to improve coding efficiency, problem solving and development workflows. Validate, test and productionise\nAI-generated code to ensure quality, security and maintainability.\nDevelop and maintain automated reports, dashboards and data visualisations, translating business reporting requirements into practical and user-friendly technology solutions.\nIdentify repetitive, manual or inefficient processes and implement opportunities for automation, system integration and AI-enabled improvements.\nOptimise application and database performance through code refactoring, query optimisation, performance tuning and scalable development practices.\nTest software solutions, troubleshoot and resolve bugs, integration issues, data-flow problems and other technical issues.\nWork hands-on within an AI-driven development framework, validating and productionising LLM generated code\nWork closely with product, leadership and business teams to understand requirements, translate customer needs into practical solutions, and deliver well-scoped, high-quality releases.\nContribute to coding standards, code reviews, technical documentation, development processes and practical AI-assisted engineering practices.\nParticipate in sprint planning, development, testing, deployment and continuous improvement activities within an agile environment.\nMaintain accurate and appropriate technical documentation covering applications, integrations, databases, processes and system changes.\nStay current with emerging technologies, development practices and AI capabilities, identifying opportunities to improve the organisation's technology capability and deliver measurable business value.\nRequirements\nWhat You Bring \nWe’re looking for someone who:\nTertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, Web Development or a related discipline.\n5 plus years of commercial full Stack software development experience with strong experience with Flutter/Dart, Python, Next.js, React, and Node.js\nDemonstrated experience in full-stack web development, including front-end, back-end, technologies, APIs, databases and integrations.\nStrong practical experience with SQL, database architecture and relational databases, including database design, query development, optimisation and data management.\nHands-on experience building, maintaining and working with AI APIs, LLMs, and AI-assisted development workflows and third-party integrations.\nSolid DevOps and infrastructure skills, including Linux, NGINX, and CI/CD pipelines\nPractical experience using AI-assisted development tools to support coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.\nAbility to identify practical opportunities to use AI and automation to improve business processes and efficiencies.\nHighly autonomous with strong problem-solving, time-management, and communication skills\nExperience delivering consumer or B2B software used by real customers\nStrong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.\nAbility to work collaboratively with product, leadership and business teams.\nComfortable working in an agile environment and contributing to sprint planning, code reviews and continuous improvement.\nBenefits\nWhy You’ll Love Working Here \nHMO, Dental, and Life Insurance for you and one free dependent from day one (with option to enroll more)\nPaid Leaves: Birthday, Vacation, Medical, and Maternity (up to 6 Vacation Leaves convertible to cash on your anniversary)\nEmployee Engagement Activities: Year-End Party, Family Day, Team Building, and more\nLet’s Talk\nIf you’re thinking “this sounds like me”-it probably is.
