Reporting to the Commercial Director, you’ll lead our approach to network planning and scheduling, using customer insight, performance data and strong commercial judgement to make sure our services are reliable, efficient and designed around the needs of the communities we serve.\nYou’ll also lead and develop a team of Commercial Officers and work closely with colleagues across operations, finance, marketing and digital to turn ideas and opportunities into practical, deliverable improvements. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys combining commercial thinking, data and people leadership to make a visible difference to both customers and the wider business.\nWhat You’ll Be Doing\nLeading the planning and scheduling of our bus network, including the development of timetables, driver duties and rosters.\nUsing customer, market and performance data to identify opportunities to improve services and commercial performance.\nMonitoring key commercial measures, spotting emerging trends, risks and opportunities and turning insight into action.\nOverseeing costings and the preparation of strong, commercially competitive bids for contracted services.\nWorking closely with operational teams to make sure network plans are practical, understood and successfully delivered.\nBuilding strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including depot teams, local stakeholders and Trade Union representatives.\nWorking with our marketing and digital teams to support customer acquisition, retention and engagement.\nLeading and developing our Commercial Officers, creating a supportive, inclusive and high-performing team.\nSupporting the Commercial Director and representing the commercial team at internal and external meetings when required.\nWhat We Need\nStrong commercial experience and a track record of improving performance and delivering results.\nConfidence working with complex data and, importantly, the ability to turn that data into clear recommendations and practical actions.\nA good understanding of the financial considerations behind commercial decisions and experience building credible business cases.\nExperience leading, coaching and developing people.\nStrong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence and constructively challenge at all levels.\nA genuine customer focus and an understanding of how customer experience can support stronger commercial performance.\nAn interest in public transport and how great bus networks can better serve customers and communities.\nWhy Join Us?\nYou’ll receive 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays, alongside benefits including our pension scheme, employee benefits scheme and free company travel.\nMore importantly, you’ll be joining a role where your decisions can have a real impact, helping us build a network that works better for our customers, our communities and our people.\nStagecoach is proudly an inclusive employer, striving for a culture where everyone can be themselves and where all the differences people bring are truly appreciated.
