This is a rare chance to help build a greenfield operation from the ground up.\nThe Opportunity\nAs Engineering Specialist, Process, you will support manufacturing process engineering for a new battery pack assembly plant. Your focus will be continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity. You will apply sound engineering principles and analytical techniques to set up and improve processes and products. You will also lead process audits, resolve assembly concerns, and drive variability reduction and Lean initiatives. You will help keep the plant compliant with plant, corporate, government and environmental standards, working with teams across a new and growing site.\nThe role starts remotely and moves onsite in Jeffersonville, Indiana. During construction, you may attend onsite meetings or work from a temporary onsite office.\nWhat You'll Do\nSupport manufacturing process engineering for battery pack assembly\nDrive continuous improvement in safety, quality and productivity; find throughput constraints and lead root-cause improvements\nApply engineering principles and analytical techniques to set up and improve processes and products\nBuild action plans to investigate and prioritize quality concerns, and verify corrective actions on internal and supplier processes\nLead process audits to maintain process discipline in line with plant operating standards\nConduct ergonomic job evaluations and implement corrective actions\nAnalyze root causes of battery pack inventory discrepancies, take part in mapping exercises, and implement fixes to reduce inventory\nDevelop process and instruction sheets that support quality methods\nDeliver capable processes and tools for battery pack assembly operations\nLead resolution of assembly concerns, including variability reduction and Lean best practices\nEnsure compliance with plant, corporate, government and environmental standards, including ISO 14001; support internal ISO audits as needed\nWhat You'll Bring\nBachelor's degree in Engineering\n2+ years of related experience\nAbility and willingness to work off-shift schedules\nNice to Have\nMaster's degree in Engineering\n3-5 years of battery pack assembly experience\nExperience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma\nProficiency with Lean tools, including 5S, Kanban, Poka-Yoke and Value Stream Mapping\nExperience with DMAIC and DMADV (DFSS) project methods\nFamiliarity with Total Quality Management (TQM) and Kaizen\nExperience with FMEA, PPAP and Design of Experiments (DOE)\nExperience with visual factory management\nProficiency in 8D and 5-Why problem solving\nKnowledge of ergonomic analysis\nStrong leadership, interpersonal, team-building, written and verbal communication skills\nCompensation & Benefits\nThe salary range for this position is $74,300 - $166,200. This position includes a comprehensive benefits package.
