Our AI-powered platform enables robots to tackle unprecedented challenges through an intuitive instruction interface, bringing the power of software automation to physical spaces.\nWhat you'll do:\nWe're looking for a seasoned electrical engineer to own the electronics at the heart of our robots: motor controllers, power distribution, compute, camera, battery management, and sensing boards. As a Senior Electrical Engineer you will take designs from concept through production release, work hands-on in the lab, and partner with Mechanical, Software, and Functional Safety engineers to ship hardware that is simple, reliable, and manufacturable at scale.\nLocation\nThis is a hybrid role, on-site at least 3 days/week at our Glen Cove, NY factory, where our robots are designed, built, and tested, with additional on-site days as bring-up or production needs require. On-site, you'll have a fully equipped electronics lab, production robots, and our manufacturing floor steps from your desk.\nResponsibilities\nOwn the design and validation of PCBAs for critical robot subsystems - motor controllers, power distribution, compute, camera, battery management, and sensing boards - from concept through production release\n\nDrive key architecture and component decisions through conceptual design, requirements definition, and trade studies, and advise hardware leadership on technical strategy\n\nDo the hands-on, technically deep work: schematic capture, PCB layout (including high-current power and high-speed digital), board bring-up, test plans, and root-cause debugging in the lab\n\nLead design reviews and own the component library, release process, and design checklists that keep the team fast and consistent\n\nBe the primary technical contact for PCB fabrication and assembly vendors; drive DFM/DFA feedback into designs, and support production issues\n\nMentor and advise associate and mid-level engineers on technical and personal advancement\nWho you are\nWe don't require a background in robotics - but we do require deep, hands-on electronics experience.\nWe're looking for engineers who are self-driven, optimistic, creative, and resourceful. We have no requirement for a background in robotics, but find most success with engineers excited by the domain and looking to apply deep electronics expertise - from motor drives, power electronics, embedded compute, automotive, or aerospace - to robots they can watch move. Our ideal candidate will be open to spending roughly 60% of their time on design (architecture, schematics, layout) and 40% on lab, integration, and manufacturing support (bring-up, debug, vendor and production issues), with flexibility to sway more toward one or the other depending on current projects and team needs.\nSkills you'll bring:\nExperience: You have a bachelor's or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related field) and 5+ years designing, building, and testing PCBAs, including designs you've taken through production release\n\nEE Depth: You have mastery of power electronics (motor drivers and inverter stages, switch-mode supplies, power sequencing and protection), digital electronics (MCUs, FPGAs, Ethernet, USB, SPI/I2C/UART, signal-integrity fundamentals), and analog electronics (op-amps, filters, ADC/DAC signal chains, precision sensing)\n\nTool Fluency: You're proficient in Altium Designer (or similar EDA tools) for schematic capture and multi-layer layout, including constraint-driven routing for high-speed and high-current designs\n\nDebugging Mastery: You know how to attack a hardware problem with a scope, logic/protocol analyzer, and bench instruments, document what you find, and converge on a fix quickly\n\nClarity of Communication: You excel in written and verbal communication - clear design documentation, crisp trade studies, and design reviews that make your peers better\n\nImpact Driven: You relentlessly seek user impact and value execution over technical idealism; a reliable, manufacturable board that ships beats an elegant one that never leaves the lab\n\nProactive Simplicity: You prioritize simplicity, reliability, and velocity, and proactively identify opportunities to improve proposed designs or incumbent hardware\n\nGrowth + Optimism: You are excited by new domains and challenges, and eager to pick up new context to accelerate your impact\n\nExcelling in Ambitious Environments: You excel in dynamic and ambitious environments, working with a diverse group of individuals and backgrounds\n\nBonus points for:\nHigh-speed design (PCIe Gen1-5, USB3/4, MIPI, GMSL, 10G Ethernet) with high-current power delivery for compute modules, and a working understanding of signal and power integrity (impedance control, crosstalk, PDN) and how to mitigate issues\n\nCamera electronics and image sensor integration (MIPI, GMSL, sensor power and clocking)\n\nDense or space-constrained boards (HDI, flex, rigid-flex) and their fabrication trade-offs\n\nMotor electromagnetic design and motor control (FOC, current sensing, encoder interfaces), or control systems for robotic manipulation or locomotion\n\nEmbedded programming of DSPs, MCUs, and FPGAs; LTspice and Python for simulation, analysis, and test automation\n\nEMC/EMI design and regulatory compliance testing (CE/UL, IEC 61000 series), including pre-compliance debugging\n\nReal-time industrial fieldbuses (EtherCAT, CAN/CANopen, EtherNet/IP) and safety-rated electronics to ISO 13849 or IEC 61508 (redundant architectures, STO, safety fieldbus)\n\nTaking products from prototype through NPI to volume manufacturing - DFM/DFT, test fixtures, yield improvement\nCompensation and Benefits: The base salary range for this role is $120,000 to $180,000, depending on experience. Base salary is just one part of the overall compensation at Standard Bots. All Full-Time Employees are eligible for Employee Stock Options. We also offer a package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, life insurance, disability insurance, and 401(k) to regular full-time employees.","description_format":"text","description_chars":6122,"description_truncated":false,"requirements":{"experience_years_min":5,"management_years_min":null,"team_size_min":null,"manages_managers":false,"education":{"level":"bachelor","optional":false},"security_clearance":false,"languages":[]},"benefits":["Life insurance","Stock options","Vision insurance"],"hiring_locations":[{"name":"United States","iso":"US","kind":"country"}],"hiring_excludes":[],"relocation_offered":false,"industries":["Industrial Robotics","Collaborative Robots (Cobots)"],"lifecycle":[{"event":"open","at":"2026-09-14T15:37:13Z"}],"visa":[],"liveness":{"score":61,"band":"ok","label":"Likely open","p_open":1,"p_active":0.814,"p_room":0.75,"age_days":51,"expected_fill_days":53,"reasons":["conf:0","win:late"],"computed_at":"2026-11-02T06:13:15Z"},"pay":{"stated_usd_annual":180000,"is_top_pay":false},"html_url":"https://alion.io/job/standard-bots-senior-electrical-engineer-on-site","json_url":"https://alion.io/job/standard-bots-senior-electrical-engineer-on-site.json","meta":{"generated_at":"2026-11-02T09:19:44Z","cache_seconds":300,"methodology":"https://alion.io/methodology","terms":"https://alion.io/terms","contact":"https://alion.io/contact","api":"https://alion.io/developers","about":"Alion is a live layer of people, companies and AI agents: who they are, whether they are real and active right now, what they do and how to work with them, readable by people and by agents and paid per call.","catalog":"https://alion.io/catalog.json","usage":{"tier":"crawler_verified","counted_by":"address","units_charged":1,"used_today":13040,"day_limit":null,"remaining_today":null,"minute_limit":300,"resets_at":"2026-11-03T00:00:00Z"}},"offers":[{"id":"company.slices","title":"One company in depth, by slice","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002,"plus_per_slice":{"credits":0.05,"usd":0.005}},"unit":"per company, plus each slice with data","note":"the employer in depth","call":{"mcp_tool":"get_company","arguments":{"id":1307},"rest":"https://alion.io/mcp/rest/get_company?id=1307"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.slices&for=job%2Fstandard-bots-senior-electrical-engineer-on-site"},{"id":"market.stats","title":"A market slice: pay, demand and time to fill","status":"live","price":{"credits":1,"usd":0.1},"unit":"per slice","note":"pay, demand and time to fill for this role and place","call":{"mcp_tool":"market_stats"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=market.stats&for=job%2Fstandard-bots-senior-electrical-engineer-on-site"},{"id":"job.search","title":"Open jobs by role, technology, place, pay and visa","status":"live","price":{"credits":0.02,"usd":0.002},"unit":"per posting in a list","note":"similar open postings","call":{"mcp_tool":"search_jobs"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=job.search&for=job%2Fstandard-bots-senior-electrical-engineer-on-site"},{"id":"company.verify","title":"Is this company real and active right now","status":"pilot","price":null,"unit":"per company","request":{"url":"https://alion.io/catalog/request","method":"POST","body":"{\"offer\": \"company.verify\", \"for\": \"job/standard-bots-senior-electrical-engineer-on-site\", \"note\": \"what you need it for\"}"},"human":"https://alion.io/catalog?offer=company.verify&for=job%2Fstandard-bots-senior-electrical-engineer-on-site"}],"agent":{"mcp":"https://alion.io/mcp/jobs","mcp_open":"https://alion.io/mcp/open","next":[{"tool":"get_job","arguments":{"id":909336}},{"tool":"search_jobs","arguments":{"company":"standardbots.com","detail":"compact"}},{"tool":"match_people","arguments":{"job_id":909336},"note":"people open to offers who fit this vacancy"}],"note":"The same data through MCP tools: https://alion.io/mcp/open needs no sign-in (compact searches, postings, people); https://alion.io/mcp with an Alion account has everything.
