The role will be part of the Artificial Intelligence audit team that covers Artificial Intelligence and related topics.\nKey Responsibilities\nStrategy\nStay abreast of developments in data management, emerging AI technologies, regulatory changes, and industry trends to ensure the audit function remains current and effective.\nProvide strategic insights aimed at enhancing the organisation's AI Governance and enterprise AI initiatives.\nSupport the Audit Director for Artificial Intelligence in keeping up with the key changes within the Artificial Intelligence portfolio and monitor the Bank’s key AI programmes.\nExecute responsibilities in accordance with the Audit Charter, maintaining independence from management and avoiding any interference.\nCollaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, engineers, compliance, and risk management, to ensure a holistic approach to AI governance and AI auditing.\nAudit Delivery\nDeliver impactful and high-quality audit work within the agreed timelines, budget constraints, and in full alignment with established audit methodology.\nExecute audit work and issue validation in an efficient and effective manner, within the given budget and timelines.\nClearly identify the risks and impact of issues during issue writing, agreeing these issues with management and obtaining quality management action plans to mitigate the risk.\nProvide guidance to the team on business / audit technical knowledge and management skills.\nChampion innovation and increase the use of such as artificial intelligence and data analytics, in audit assignments.\nTrack the implementation / delivery of the agreed issues and action plans for the audits assigned, understanding the key risks arising, provide advice on resolution of issues to auditees/action plan owners and escalate audit findings that remain unresolved.\nPersonal Behaviours\nModel valued behaviours and foster an environment that recognises positive contributions.\nEngage with peers to enhance knowledge sharing.\nSeek external perspectives to improve audit work.\nProvide expertise to support other GIAI audit teams.\nImplement and support department initiatives, including planning and training.\n\nPeople & Talent\nDemonstrate proactivity engagement during team sessions.\nDevelop skills and competencies to support the function in ensuring future readiness.\nExcellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.\nStrong written and verbal communication skills.\nAbility to work independently and as part of a team.\nAttention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.\nRisk Management\nPerform risk assessments to identify key areas for audit coverage and assist with audit planning activities.\nBe prepared to raise issues / concerns outside the normal audit process.\nAttend Risk and Control forums to stay updated on developments and ensure key risks are monitored.\nRegularly review Management Information and reports to track key trends related to risk and control matters.\nStakeholder Management\nMaintain relationships with senior leaders in the Bank’s AI organisation, including the Chief Data Office, AI safety council, AI platform, and the AI teams in the Business.\nManage internal stakeholders across the GIAI function.\nGovernance\nAssist the Audit Director for Artificial Intelligence in managing Product / Country stakeholders and build relationships to improve control and risk awareness.\nCommunicate findings / issues to technology stakeholders and monitor overdue issues / action plans for resolution.\nEscalate delays in audit work to auditee and GIAI management.\nRegulatory & Business Conduct\nDisplay exemplary conduct and live by the Group’s Values and Code of Conduct;\nShould have knowledge of key regulatory requirements related to technology, specifically the requirements of key regulators PRA, FCA, HKMA, MAS and RBI.\nTake personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.\nEffectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate, and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.\nOther Responsibilities\nEmbed Here for Good and Group’s brand and values in GIAI.\nPerform other responsibilities assigned under Group, Country, Business or Functional policies and procedures.\nSkills and Experience\nAI model development and programming languages (e.g. Python, R).\nAudit\nEnglish (Written / Spoken)\nRisk and Controls\nQualifications\nQualification:\nEducation: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or related specialisations in AI.\nExperience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in Artificial Intelligence. Audit or risk management knowledge is preferred.
