This role focuses on data modelling, database design, frameworks and data integration to ensure the efficient and secure handling of data across the organization, as well as data governance. Collaborating closely with data engineers, analysts, business stakeholders, and tech teams, the Lead, Data Architecture is a key contributor to data, analytics and AI within the bank.\nKey Responsibilities\nStrategy\nContribute to the development and execution of the data architecture strategy, ensuring alignment with the bank’s strategy on data, technology roadmap and business goals.\nDesign and document data models, architectural patterns, and integration approaches.\nEvaluate and recommend data technologies, tools, platforms, and analytics tools.\nEnsure architectural consistency across domains and platforms.\nBusiness\nCollaborate with business and IT stakeholders to develop technology policies, standards, guidelines and best practices for effective data management and data governance aligned to the data governance and data management policies, standards and guidelines as defined by the Chief Data Office (CDO).\nHelp communicate architectural decisions in a clear, business-relevant manner.\nTranslate business requirements into technical data architecture solutions.\nSupport the definition of strategic data roadmap.\nProcesses\nEnsure data architecture standards and ensure adherence to data governance policies.\nContribute to the development and enforcement of data architecture standards, principles, and best practices to ensure consistency across organization.\nImplement process for managing the complete data lifecycle, from acquisition and storage to transformation, archival and deletion.\nPeople & Talent\nThe role will report to Head, Data Architecture\nContribute to a culture of knowledge sharing by staying current on modern data architecture trends and practices.\nMentor and guide data engineers and analysts to ensure alignment with strategic vision.\nBuild and lead the data architecture practice, set in place a succession plan to grow the next generation of data architects for SCB.\n\nRisk Management\nResponsible for proactively seeking regular assurance that function is performing to an acceptable risk and control standards.\nResponsible to act quickly and decisively when any risk and control weakness become apparent and ensure they are addressed within an appropriate timeframe and, if necessary, escalated through the relevant committees.\nResponsible to balance business performance delivery and cost management with risk and control matters to ensure that it does not materially threaten the Group, remaining within risk appetite.\nResponsible to work in collaboration with risk and control teams.\nGovernance\nEnsure compliance with the highest standards of regulatory and business conduct and compliance practices as defined by internal and external requirements.
