Our mission is to deliver the essential building blocks of nuclear power-enabling cost-effective, safe, and secure energy for the world. \nThe Licensing Engineer supports the development and execution of licensing activities for Standard Nuclear's fuel fabrication programs, with a primary focus on 10 CFR Part 70 licensing of special nuclear material and fuel cycle facilities. \nThis is a technically focused role responsible for developing licensing documentation, supporting Integrated Safety Analysis activities, evaluating regulatory impacts of facility and process changes, and helping ensure engineering and operational decisions remain aligned with the licensing basis. \nThe Licensing Engineer will work closely with engineering, operations, criticality safety, radiological controls, EH&S, quality, Nuclear Material Control and Accountability, and project teams to translate technical designs and processes into clear, defensible regulatory documentation. \nRESPONSIBILITIES \nPart 70 Licensing & Regulatory Support \nSupport licensing activities under 10 CFR Part 70 for fuel fabrication facilities and special nuclear material operations\nDevelop and support license applications, amendments, regulatory submittals, responses to NRC requests for additional information, and related licensing correspondence\nInterpret regulatory requirements and provide licensing guidance to engineering, operations, and project teams\nPerform regulatory reviews and gap assessments to identify licensing requirements, commitments, and potential impacts to project execution\nSupport development and maintenance of licensing strategies, regulatory commitments, and licensing-basis documentation\nIntegrated Safety Analysis & Safety Basis Support \nSupport development and maintenance of Integrated Safety Analyses (ISA) and ISA Summary documentation\nAssist with hazard identification, accident sequence evaluation, consequence assessment, and identification of Items Relied on for Safety (IROFS)\nSupport evaluation of engineered and administrative controls used to meet applicable Part 70 performance requirements\nCoordinate with technical disciplines to ensure safety controls, assumptions, and management measures are accurately reflected in licensing documentation\nSupport updates to safety analyses as processes, equipment, facility configurations, or operating conditions change\nEngineering & Facility Change Integration \nReview engineering designs, process descriptions, equipment changes, procedures, and operating concepts for licensing impact\nSupport regulatory evaluations of facility and process changes, including determination of required licensing actions prior to implementation\nWork with engineering teams to ensure regulatory requirements and licensing commitments are incorporated into design, fabrication, testing, and commissioning activities\nParticipate in design reviews, readiness reviews, hazard reviews, and project planning activities as the licensing representative\nHelp identify and resolve regulatory issues that could affect project scope, schedule, or facility readiness\nTechnical Documentation & Cross-Functional Execution \nSupport licensing activities related to 10 CFR Part Part 71 (Packaging and Transportation of Radioactive Material)\nAuthor and review technical and regulatory documents, including process descriptions, safety analyses, regulatory evaluations, licensing submittals, and supporting technical reports\nEnsure documentation is technically accurate, traceable, internally consistent, and suitable for regulatory review\nCoordinate technical inputs from engineering, operations, safety, quality, and other subject matter experts\nTrack licensing deliverables, open regulatory issues, commitments, and required actions across active projects\nSupport continuous improvement of licensing processes, templates, documentation practices, and regulatory readiness\nPREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS \nBachelor's degree in Nuclear Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field\n8+ years of experience in nuclear licensing, safety analysis, fuel cycle operations, or another regulated technical environment\n4+ years of experience with 10 CFR Part 70 licensing of fuel cycle facilities\nKnowledge of nuclear materials transport regulations under DOT (49 CFR) and NRC (10 CFR part 71)\nExperience with DOE nuclear safety basis work, including DSA development or DOE-STD-3009,\nStrong technical writing skills and experience developing clear, defensible engineering or regulatory documentation\nAbility to understand process systems, engineering designs, hazards, and technical analyses and translate them into regulatory requirements and documentation\nStrong analytical, organizational, and cross-functional communication skills\nBENEFITS \nHealth, Dental & Vision Insurance\nHealth Savings
