If you’re interested in hands-on engineering, manufacturing, and solving technical problems in an aerospace environment, we’d like to hear from you.\nThe Production Engineer provides engineering support to the business unit for all aspects of component repair, including the development of repair solutions and continuous improvement initiatives. You’ll work closely with Operations, Quality, Process Engineering and other technical teams while ensuring compliance with relevant airworthiness and contractual requirements.\nWhat you'll do:\nIdentifies and establishes improvement programs through root cause analysis (i.e., repair instructions, proper sequencing, inspection criteria, gauges, fixtures, machines, etc.), analysis of turn times, work in process, non-conformance tags (NCTs), material review board (MRBs), process interruptions, other line stoppages, warranty failure modes, field reliability of repairs, investigation of repair-related field problems, line build problems, and subcontractors' repair performance. Works quality department to trend the improvements.\nDevelops minor/major repairs (non-standard in conjunction with original equipment manufacturer (OEM), in-house process engineers, and outside services as required) under Design Approval Organization (DAO) sanction; refines existing repair schemes to eliminate the frequent need for in-process rejects and MRBs.\nOwns, generates, maintains, and updates Reworks Process Instruction (RPIs), temporary overhaul data revisions (TODRs), matrix codes, etc. related to repair; prepares production routings and detailed repair instructions based on approved data.\nReviews all scrap not able to be dispositioned routinely with a view to applying book repairs, logging scrap rates and costs, and accumulating stock as future-repairable.\nIn compliance with company instructions and the Design Approval Organization, executes MRB documentation and NCTs, TODRs and temporary parts list revisions (TPLRs).\nActs as a conduit between different business unit and organizational functions (customer service, operations, quality, service engineering, process engineering, and technical airworthiness group) in resolving technical production problems.\nOriginates, revises & interprets technical drawings.\nSupports acquisition of equipment as required to meet implementation objectives. Establishes and monitors equipment safety issues.\nWrites technical reports and proposals; develops work instructions.\nResponsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.\nPosition Requirements:\nUniversity degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Aerospace, Metallurgical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.\nStrong organizational, analytical and problem-solving skills.\nAbility to manage priorities, track project progress and support assignments through completion.\nAbility to read and interpret technical information and engineering drawings.\nInterest in working in a hands-on production and manufacturing environment.\nRegistration with Engineers Geoscientists Manitoba (EGM), or eligibility for registration.\nNew graduates and junior engineers are encouraged to apply.
