Our expert team and supportive leaders give you the trust and independence to do your best work.\nAs an intern at StandardAero, you will gain hands-on industry experience, learn from experts, and collaborate with our teams that raise the standard of excellence.\nOver the course of your 10-12 week internship, you will have the opportunity to:\nPartner with existing production engineering teams to support the Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) operations in San Antonio, TX\nStudents will work with experienced engineers on project types that include Repair Industrialization, Tools and Fixture Design and Manufacture, and Process Improvement\nThe Power Plant Engineer supports StandardAero maintain, repair and overhaul the Rolls-Royce RB211 engines as a 145 Repair Station. As a Power Plant Engineer, you will focus on shop support, customer technical support, engine repair instructions, scrap material review, development of minor repairs and continuous improvement programs, while ensuring compliance to relevant airworthiness and contractual requirements.\nThe responsibilities of the role include:\nResponsible for immediately reporting flight/product safety concerns.\nParticipates in proactive risk analysis of flight/product safety critical parts and processes.\nResolves technical problems beyond the scope of the product unit operations group; liaises with manufacturers.\nPerforms engine and accessory test, performance analysis and troubleshooting.\nPrepares detailed work instructions for operations personnel, outside of routine overhaul procedures.\nProvides interpretation and clarification of overhaul data; produces material review board, temporary overhaul data requirement, unit build standards, and engineering bill of materials documentation to support operational repair and overhaul processes.\nReviews service bulletins and manual changes and incorporates amendments into production.\nReviews warranty claims and advises management on the disposition of assigned items.\nProvides written or verbal technical advice for customers; produces reports relating to product serviceability, repair summaries, warranty and failure analysis or product configuration\nProvides technical support during the implementation of new processes; specifies tools and test equipment required; assists in training on the overhaul and test methods.\nAdvises on repair and improvement schemes together with feasibility studies.\nResponsible for observing all applicable safety requirements and reporting immediately any unsafe practices/conditions.\nAct as a conduit between the business unit and component remanufacturing services in resolving technical production problems.\nImplement new repairs/processes on scheduled due dates to accomplish production objectives using project management tools.\nOriginate, revise & interpret technical drawings.\nCarries out special projects as assigned.\nPosition Requirements\nGood understanding of manufacturing methods, shop equipment and machining processes.\nAbility to read, understand and interpret blueprints.\nGood project management skills.\nThorough knowledge of failure modes and effects analysis.\nWorking knowledge of precision measuring instruments.\nWorking knowledge of gas turbine engine and/or accessory theory and performance analysis.\nWorking knowledge of PC's in the current company operating system environment.\nWorking knowledge of production management computer systems.\nStrong planning, organizational, analytical, leadership, decision making, oral and written communication skills.\nThorough knowledge of company instruction, company process, unit build standard, temporary overhaul data revision and original equipment manufacturing manuals.\nAbility to comprehend federal regulations and how those apply within company policies.\nRecognizes and understands flight/product safety critical parts and processes.\nExperience in an aerospace or manufacturing environment.\nEducation Requirements:\nA minimum of 60 credit hours or two years within an ABET-accredited towards a Bachelors in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering
