This is an immediate opportunity for someone with strong accounting fundamentals, attention to detail, and experience operating within a disciplined monthly close and internal control environment.\nYou’ll work closely with the Corporate Accounting team, Treasury team, and other stakeholders to ensure monthly bank reconciliations are complete and cash activity is accurately reflected recorded, supported, reviewed, and resolved in the general ledger.\nLocation: On-site in Winnipeg, MB\nWhat you’ll do:\nPrepare monthly bank reconciliations for domestic and international bank accounts, reconciling bank activity to the general ledger and other applicable accounting records.\n\nEnsure reconciliations are completed accurately and within established monthly close deadlines.\n\nIdentify, research, document, and resolve reconciling items, including outstanding checks, deposits in transit, bank fees, returned payments, unidentified receipts or disbursements, transfers in transit, and other timing or posting differences.\n\nInvestigate aged or unusual reconciling items and coordinate with Treasury, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, business unit finance teams, and other stakeholders to ensure timely resolution.\n\nPrepare and record correcting journal entries identified through the reconciliation process.\n\nMaintain appropriate supporting documentation and evidence of preparation in accordance with company policies and internal control requirements.\n\nMonitor outstanding reconciling items and escalate unresolved or unusual items in accordance with established procedures.\n\nSupport the standardization and continuous improvement of bank reconciliation processes across the organization.\n\nPosition Requirements\nMust be eligible to work in Canada on a permanent basis\nMinimum 2+ years of experience in finance, accounting, treasury or a related role\nStrong hands-on reconciliation experience, including investigating and resolving discrepancies\nProficiency with Microsoft Excel\nAbility to quickly learn processes and work independently with minimal ramp-up\nPreferred Characteristics\nExperience with treasury accounting in a publicly traded company or similarly complex organization.\nExperience working with multiple ERP and financial systems\nFamiliarity with SOX compliant environment, US GAAP and financial controls\nAbility to quickly learn processes and work independently with minimal ramp-up\nAdaptable and able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment\nStrong analytical skills and attention to detail\nSolid understanding of accounting and financial transactions, including reconciliations and journal entries\nBenefits that make life better\nComprehensive Health and Dental insurance\nPension plan 100% company match;
