These parts serve an array of markets globally, and through our customer driven innovation – improve the overall performance and efficiency at which end products operate. \n We are looking for a Junior Electrical Design Engineer who is a technical professional responsible for creating design specifications for a variety of electromechanical components, primarily including but not limited to designs requiring magnetic field mapping and analysis, modeling of electromagnetic systems and incorporating physics of converting mechanical energy to electrical energy using magnetic principles. Electrical Design Engineers work with internal and external customers on design specifications, so they have excellent communication skills and the ability to maintain critical customer engineering relationships. They complete proposals, prototypes, test plans and reports, to deliver products which meet the customer’s design specifications. The Electrical Design Engineer is responsible for product design from concept through production and providing ongoing design support post launch.\n\nWhat You'll Do \nTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.\nCreate new designs including concept, design, and development of mechanical and electrical components.\nTranslate customer specifications into cost efficient manufacturable assemblies.\nSupport the sustainment of existing designs by providing ongoing design support post launch.\nAdapt existing designs to meet new customer requirements and applications.\nGenerate costing information for internally designed and customer designed solutions.\nCoordinate prototyping with internal and external partners to deliver products to the customer’s expectations.\nCommunicate risks or delays in the completion of customer prototypes.\nEstablish test requirements and assist with the testing of new product prototypes to verify the product and its conformance to specifications.\nCreate and process ECNs/ECOs, as required, to ensure documentation is released, controlled, and remains accurate.\nReview and prepare drawings, establish product standards and specifications, and ensure documentation is accurate.\nReview designs for accuracy, feasibility, economics, and conformance to best engineering practice.\nComplete reverse engineering activities to determine product specifications and materials.\nReview, understand, and support customer program requirements for existing and new designs.\nInterface with customers to establish performance/cost targets and execute launches of new products or changes to existing products while developing and maintaining critical relationships with customer engineering teams.\nUnderstand industry standards and organizational policies / procedures and ensure they are met.\nDesign to meet agency requirements and work with third party testing agencies to achieve compliance.\nWork closely with all functions to ensure information is relayed and documented for a smooth release of new products to production.\nCommunicate with internal and external customers to provide technical information, engineering recommendations, action plans, and identification/evaluation of risk.\nAssist commercial and technical personnel with program feasibility assessments and proposals.\nSupport the development and implementation of best practices, standards, policies, and procedures for the engineering department.\nSupport the implementation and use of lean methodologies such as weekly SIOP, Daily Visual Management, A3 Problem Solving, and Kaizen.\nOther duties as assigned.\nWhat You'll Bring \nA junior engineer may require the supervision of an engineer or senior engineer while performing tasks and start with simpler engineering responsibilities before advancing to more complex jobs.\nBachelor of Science Degree in an Electrical Engineering program accredited by ABET preferred.
