Our deep knowledge of the forming process, combined with our multiple decades of experience, has positioned us as a critical manufacturing partner. \nReporting to the Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer is responsible for optimizing and supporting our metal forming production processes in the Forming department. Duties include hands-on development, troubleshooting, process definition, standard work, tool design & improvement, and process control documentation. This role focuses on improving process efficiency, product quality, and operational reliability in a manufacturing environment. This position works closely with all levels of Engineering, as well as Manufacturing, to create a product that meets the customer’s requirements. Additionally, this position spans both process and project engineering tasks, goals, and initiatives to provide a well-rounded experience in Engineering, with specific focus on the Forming processes.What You’ll Do\nAct as the technical liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing.\nMonitor and optimize forming processes to ensure consistent product quality and throughput.\nAnalyze production data to identify trends, root causes of defects, and opportunities for process improvements.\nAnalyze, standardize, and improve existing forming operations to reduce cycle time, improve tool life, and enhance part quality.\nLead root cause analysis and corrective actions for forming-related issues.\nAssist with approval of tool designs for critical processing.\nConduct forming simulations and finite element analysis (FEA) using AutoForm to evaluate and optimize the forming process.\nCollaborate with Quality and Manufacturing teams to implement new materials, equipment, and technologies, in the Forming department.\nSupport equipment commissioning, trials, and scale-up of forming equipment upgrades.\nCreate visual instructions with process definition and control for safe and repeatable manufacturing processes such as Process Control documents (PCs), Work Instructions (WI), and Operating Process Sheets (OPS).\nAnalyze technology and resources needed to plan and assess the feasibility of processes and associated equipment.\nAssist with schedules and project status updates using Asana or MS Project for different programs/projects.\nAssist with developing PFMEAs where and/or when necessary to mitigate process risk.\nOrganize and evaluate process and cost data (ex. planned vs. actual) to support decision-making activities.\nProvide estimating support and input through developing layouts and tool concepts for costing/quoting.\nManage drawings, data sets, models, parts lists, and specifications in accordance with internal controls.\nEvaluate, research, and provide feedback on new technologies.\nParticipate in internal or external presentations related to Engineering topics.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety and quality procedures.\nOccasionally visit vendors and suppliers.\nAttend meetings and training, as required.\nComplete tasks and projects, as assigned.\n\nTeam Responsibilities\nProvide necessary support to McStarlite facility as needed.\nHave a daily presence on the manufacturing floor to work collaboratively with Manufacturing team.\nSupport other areas or divisional business units as directed by manager.\n\nWhat You’ll Bring\nAssociate’s degree, or higher, in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering preferred.
