Leading in metal forming solutions partnered for Aerospace and Defense, McStarlite forms part of Standex A&D, a part of the global Standex International team, with four locations worldwide.\nPosition Summary Reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Process Engineer is responsible for developing and documenting CNC and manual machining processes. Duties include hands-on development, troubleshooting, CNC programming, process definition, standard work, tool design & improvement, and process control documentation. This role focuses on improving process efficiency, product quality, and operational reliability in a manufacturing environment. This position works closely with all levels of Engineering, as well as Manufacturing, to create a product that meets the customer’s requirements. Additionally, this position spans both process and project engineering tasks, goals, and initiatives to provide a well-rounded experience in Engineering, with specific focus on Machining and Robotics processes.Daily Responsibilities\nAct as the technical liaison between Engineering and Manufacturing.\nResponsible for programming (machining/robot) depending on focus or assignment.\nAssist with approval of tool designs for critical processing.\nCapture the process information (ex. tooling/fixturing concepts, inserts, tool holders, speeds, feeds, etc.) necessary for detailed process definition and control.\nProvide estimating support and input through running process simulations, developing layouts, and tool concepts for costing/quoting, as necessary.\nAnalyze, document and optimize existing machining operations to reduce cycle time, improve tool life, and enhance part quality.\nLead root cause analysis and corrective actions for machining-related issues.\nCollaborate with Quality and Manufacturing teams to implement new materials, equipment, and technologies.\nSupport the introduction of new products and equipment, including CNC programming and process validation.\nPerform observation/time studies for developing standards and improving processes for feedback to the Engineering team.\nReview QA supplied control plans and inspection logs as required.\nCreate visual instructions with process definition and control for safe and repeatable manufacturing processes such as Process Control documents (PCs), Work Instructions (WI), and Operating Process Sheets (OPS).\nAnalyze technology and resources needed to plan and assess the feasibility of processes and associated equipment.\nAssist maintenance with troubleshooting, diagnosis, and repair of machines when necessary.\nAssist with schedules and project status updates using Asana or MS Project for different programs/projects.\nAssist in evaluating and/or dispositioning nonconformance reports and provide/implement correction action.\nAssist with developing PFMEAs where and/or when necessary to mitigate process risk.\nOrganize and evaluate process and cost data (ex. planned vs. actual) to support decision-making activities.\nManage drawings, data sets, models, part lists, and specifications in accordance with internal controls.\nEvaluate, research, and provide feedback on new technologies.\nParticipate in internal or external presentations related to Engineering topics.\nMaintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all safety and quality procedures.\nOccasionally visit vendors and suppliers.\nAttend meetings and training, as required.\nComplete tasks and projects, as assigned.\nTeam Responsibilities\nProvide necessary support to McStarlite facility as needed.\nHave a daily presence on the manufacturing floor to work collaboratively with Manufacturing team.\nSupport other areas or divisional business units as directed by manager.\nQualifications and Experience\nAssociate’s degree, or higher, in mechanical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering preferred.
