Ensures active communication with supporting departments and 1st Shift staff.\nWhat You'll Do\nShift start time: 3:00PM \nFollow through of Production plan hour by hour, daily activities for manufacturing associates; utilizes the strengths of the Lead personnel to help accomplish goals and workflow\nProvides technical support to the production floor by resolving issues as they arise \nEnsures compliance with daily department schedules to meet shipments on a consistent basis\nMonitors, identifies and documents run times and process improvements of shop and production\nMonitors workflow, oversees and directs production, and audits Job Paperwork, Routings, Log sheets, Process Control Sheets (PCS), Work Instructions (WI) for conformity and accuracy\nDocuments workflow, achievements, and notes for 1st shift hand-off \nCommunicates and coordinates with Engineering, Quality and other support areas as production issues arise\nReviews all jobs prior to submittal for final inspection ensuring parts are made to print, parts are properly claimed and part counts are correct\nEnsures operators perform set-ups as required to meet production schedule\nFollows safety policies and procedures and ensures subordinates do the same\nSupports all manufacturing functions including troubleshooting and problem solving in all areas of manufacturing\nProvides recommendations and periodic updates as needed to management regarding the status of production\nUtilize reporting and analytics to make data-driven decisions to meet production needs\nAttending trainings, meetings, and participate in continuous improvement programs\nTeam Management\nHold Shop Team accountable to goals and objectives set by the Company and Operations Manager\nParticipate in union activities such a contract negotiation, grievances, etc. \nTrain and mentor new team members and be an ambassador of our culture \nDelegate job assignments and review workload as necessary \nMaintain employee schedules such as approving time-off & staff coverage \nCollaborate with Human Resources for employee performance discussions, recruitment needs, hiring, and terminations \nWork to resolve interpersonal issues and conflicts as they arise\nAdvocate a safe and professional work environment\nWhat You'll Bring\nHigh School diploma or GED is required \n5+ years’ experience working in a high mix/low volume metal fabrication manufacturing environment is required\n3+ years’ experience leading/supervising small groups (Team Leader, Group Leader, Supervisor) is required \nExtensive technical knowledge of how machines (metal forming, machining, welding, general assembly stations) operate is preferred\nExposure to advanced safety concepts or Lean Management experience is preferred \nExperience in a union manufacturing environment preferred but not required\nReliable transportation\nStrong interpersonal and problem-solving skills\nDemonstrates high level of Emotional Intelligence when dealing with all levels of the company, clients, and vendors\nExceptional written and verbal communication skills\nProficiency in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and willingness to learn other software\nProficient knowledge EPR systems, Epicor preferred \nAbility to build and maintain strong working relationships\nAbility to effectively manage time, multi-task, and pay close attention to details\nSelf-motivated professional with the ability to work independently and as part of a team\nRegularly required to move, sit, and bend for various hours throughout the
